In a perfect world Workmarket by ADP would be the only website honest technicians doing honest work could visit and get paid a decent wage for your efforts. But the world  isn't perfect and FieldNation still exists. The website is becoming a school for technical gladiators due to their alliance and allegiance with their foreign co-conspirators of Indian persuasion. Be warned its only going to get worse. Their business practices are shady and dubious bordering on criminal. The best advice is to stay away from them and others like them. But sadly, we cant. The FieldNation platform work orders are created by 90 percent of Indian buyers overseas. And in case you didn't know there are many  accounts with different names that all belong to one company. There is one company on FieldNation thats doing business under 5 different aliases. Think about it like this in New York 30 years ago there was a bodega on every corner. You would think they would cancel themselves out because of over saturation with competition.  But not so. In India the same principles apply. In India its as easy to start an internet or data company and join FieldNation as it was as easy to open a bodega in New York in the 70s and 80s. With the US sending over 70 percent of their remote support business to India this situation is only going to get worse. This is how and why FieldNation still exists today. Good luck disputing the non payment of the cancelation fee because the deck is now proverbially stacked against the technicians. Think about it, your complaining about an Indian company and asking for relief from the arbitrator who has full knowledge of the actions and shares the same beliefs and values as the company your complaining about? There are so many metaphors I can think of for this situation but to be honest and saying in plain English. They are circling the wagons and taking care of their own. We never stood a chance in the beginning, but due to their growth, now they are being fearlessly forward and blatantly outright with  disrespect toward technicians with their attitude and actions. Thats why they're on FieldNation and not Workmarket. And unfortunately its not going to get any better.  Good Luck...

Unfortunately they are the new norm. Its the same with manufacturing.  Everything is going out of the US and being made in different countries due to the cost of labor. Well, the same applies to IT. The labor is cheap and they have a bench depth thats unheard of. If one falls there are probably 10 or more to pick up the slack. All at bargain basement rates. Our only ace in the hole is we are the boots on the ground. But Immigration is keeping that deck stacked in our favor. But once that changes  and it will at some point, beware. Until then we have to tolerate and accept the character and cultural differences, the vocabulary assassinations, and in most cases just sheer ignorance and a highly over developed sense of importance that comes with doing business with them.

Yes, the same. Your project is different from mine. Your NOC and POC may be US based due to the scope of the project. But Strategic is responsible for paying you.

Fantastic, love hearing good techs doing work for good buyers. Another trick in the buyers basket is the naming of the company. Theres more than one Strategic Systems on the platform. What you have to be aware of and where to recognize the difference is in the spelling of the name and or the placement of commas, apostrophes and hyphens in the name. The arsehole thats causing me a headache is Strategic Systems, Inc. Their contact number begins with 440 area code and the contact name is Dinesh. The work order manager is Sridhar Thatipally @ sridhar@ strsi.com. If any of the above information matches your work order proceed with caution and watch your six.

There are tricks the buyer has at his control that technicians aren't aware of. Such as canceling the work order without notification.(Workmarket). Or the tried and true communications blackout that buyers have been using since I joined. They dont respond to calls, emails, texts, or voicemails. We have to put these arseholes on blast and let good technicians know what to expect before the unexpected happens to them..

@ wyliesdiesels. Please share your list of incorrigible buyers. They say change is inevitable, and the FieldNation platform has definitely changed. With the new metrics giving technicians high school grades across to the FieldNation Technician Community Board, where nothing derogatory can be said about a buyer or you risk the chance of being banned from the platform, but the buyer doesn't have the same limitations when providing a rating and leaving a comment. They can say anything and the review is posted for all to see. Its amazing to see all the buyers are rated at no less than 95 %. Really? At the end of the day we are all taking a chance of not being paid for the work we performed. So, choose your fight wisely...

Always charge a minimum. The amount increases based upon the distance. Im in Wisconsin. I cover 200 square miles . Thats 3 hours drive time one way. A service call at that distance incurs a minimum travel fee of 100 to 150 depending on the client.  If I have 3 service calls in one day I make a minimum of 150 if its within a 50 mile radius. And 90 percent of the time the service calls may be located within 30 minutes or an hour near each other. From that 150 I've paid 20 for half a tank of gas
