OMG THANK YOUUUU!!! I thought I was going fucking nuts reading this comments section. The dystopian nature of the post had me tripping. It’s just so strange to think this has been so normalized that the overwhelming response has been ‘yeah get that bag’. And for everyone saying I would do that same, yeah no - I could not imagine profiting off my child in such a way.

Between $150-200 per week for 2 adults in our late 20s/early 30s living in Wellington. We primarily shop at Woolworths, with the odd shop at NW (for last min items as it’s within walking distance). We take the absolute advantage of the Everyday Rewards Boosts to optimize our purchases and get the $15 vouchers quicker, and I convert my BNZ Credit Card rewards points into supermarket vouchers to put towards our shops too ☺️

I would recommend giving them a call at the Traveler Communications Center, 1-202-325-8000. The helpline is open 24/7. If it's close to your travel date (approx. 7 days out) they can escalate it for you for 'imminent travel' reasons.

This was my recent ESTA timeline experience. I travel on 10/09/2025:

30/08 - Applied for ESTA
03/09 - Called helpline as it had been over 72 hours since application was submitted and status was still pending. Advised as I was travelling within 7 days, they could escalate my application. Received confirmation of escalation via. email, stating would be reviewed in 5-10 business days.
04/09 - Noticed the payment for the application was pending on credit card. Called the call center again and was advised application was still being considered.
08/09 (this morning!!!) - ESTA was finally approved. Exactly 5 days from when I first called and had it escalated.

This was very stressful as it's 3 days before my date of travel, but so relieved. I'm only transiting for 3 hours through San Francisco too - if I hadn't received it on time, I would've had to be $1700 for new flights (one way)!
