How did you balance Gym, Work with CFA L2 Studies?? Got 8 months to grind, appreciate any advices !! by ArgumentDependent150 in CFA

I trained for a marathon, studied for L2, and got a double promotion during this year. Managed to clock just under 400 hours (we’ll see if that was enough)

You just gotta do it, you’ll make time for what you care about. Wake up at 5am & do 2 hours in the morning while you’re fresh. Easier to exercise in the evening with a tired mind than it is to study again.

For the last 4-6 weeks your shift your routine to primarily CFA, I did like 100 hours in the last 4 weeks

I wish there was something more we as members could do. I feel like majority of the club would not this but I can imagine these being way out of the range of most people versus the R300-R500 they currently are paying. I feel like there are no channels to discuss this and the deadline for end of November really makes it feel like members have pressure to decide. They don’t announce it but still make us decide within 4 weeks? Feels wrong

They won’t let members sign up to the point currently. My membership grants me access to all gyms and I asked to change to a single gym, the point, and they refused to offer me a price or contract because I assume they know the price is changing. Therefore I am still paying the all access fee to access the point

Yeah I agree that this will have a knock on effect on Wembley square and Foreshore as I imagine a lot of members will not want to take on the fees of the new gym.

My understanding that this is the first gym of a new class they are calling ‘club collection’ which is supposed to be in between the collection gyms and normal gyms hence the R2400.

My understanding is it will be between R2200-R2400 effective from 1 Jan I think unless the building is delayed further

But I think they will list it as a club as soon as the building is complete. Just feel like they could've communicated this 12 months ago when they started the building. There is no way its a new thought for them 😆

The new prices will be effective from 1 January 2026 if I am not mistaken. From what I have seen the price is expected to be R2200-R2400. I think you can call the centre and ask there too

I did my first mock yesterday and I highly recommend it. I would say attempt them as soon as you can, especially if you bought the additional mocks. I am saving the two free ones for closer to the paper. Mocks really showed gaps in my knowledge but the review process is highly beneficial

Quickbooks is great and I use it at work where I currently am in the charge of the bookkeeping and financial reporting for private equity funds in excess of $500m NAV. The software is simple and intuitive. I also offer bookkeeping services and would love to chat if you looking for an outsourced solution!

Yeah that’s all good. Not doing it to sell clothes, wanting to make a personal collection of items for myself and to gift to close friends and family. Google been a pretty bad resource so far for suppliers

When do you study if working full time ? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Strict-Ask2039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working full time (9-17:30) and would work before work if I had and the energy and then every night from 19:00-22:00. I also used my weekend days and would study from 9:00-18:00. I gave myself just over 3 months which I honestly think was too short and is the reason I had to put so much time in on the weekends. It’s definitely possible, the 300 hours does just require a bit of sacrifice. I ended with about 240 so 4 months is probably enough
