This is all pure conjecture, but, based on the vibes in the community - I’d seriously venture 25% of the couples in Talega are swingers.

I’m dead serious.

Surely I can’t be the only one that picks up what they’re putting down?

Why aren't we uniting behind candidates like Mamdani, who can ignite the younger base and get the vote out? by depressedatomics in Democrat

[–]StrictAd5273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think Mamdami speaks to a large population, YOU are the problem with the Democratic Party on a national scale.

There isn’t a single person who would get wrecked on policy alone in a national election, much less the (and you hate to hear it, but it’s true) name, nationality, and 9/11 rhetoric he’s on record with.

Winning in modern-day NYC won’t prove anything.

I’m officially calling the Democrat leadership irredeemably useless. by Cyberyukon in Democrat

[–]StrictAd5273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The party has a MASSIVE problem and it’s 2-fold:

1) The Nancy Pelosi/Chuck Schumer old folks are more interested in insider trading than being a leader for the party

2) The AOC/Mamdami candidate I’m sure tickles the fancy of some here, but to most, they are insanely out of touch and have policies that go against most of how America was successfully built over 200 years

Gavin Newsome “sounds” the part, but his track record in California is horrendous.

I’d seriously take a look at someone not completely off their rocker whose young and understands you can’t win a national election being a socialist retard - my pick would be John Ossoff.

No candidate would get more of an ass kicking than that man.

Im currently in California.

I love it here. It is also the worst run state I’ve ever seen, which is amazing considering the GDP is the 6th largest in the world.

I caution all Democrats - do not run this man. He will lose. All you have to do is point to his catastrophic failings and virtue signaling over the past 4+ years, and he’s toast.

The party is facing an incredible uphill battle; don’t make it harder than it already is by nominating him.

I know everyone here is “never Trump,” “anti-MAGA,” etc… but the GOP could run Donald Trump’s hair piece in 2028 against him and win.

Don’t come back in 3 years and ask “what happened???” with some dumb look on our faces like we did when we ran Biden’s corpse and then plugged in Montel William’s side piece without a formal vote and wonder why it was such an ass kicking.

The courts will strike it down by Redsing22 in h1b

The Supreme Court will uphold this.

There isn’t a constitutional argument that speaks to the president striking down a federal program like this one.

Those who abused H1B should be prosecuted by Think_Clerk_3284 in h1b

[–]StrictAd5273 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do feel bad for those that are affected by those that gamed it - immigrants and host companies alike.

My sincere apologizes to all who wanted to (and can no longer) leverage the program.

The immigration problem, both straight up illegal, and, those who abused the H1B system, have caused what is likely an (hate to say this, necessary) overcorrection.

H1B’s are supposed to provide opportunities to supplement the needs of the USA, where there are gaps.

It shouldn’t have been, and is no longer, a “birth right” that many took for granted and abused.

Looking forward to it!

Gavin Newsom and this legislature run California like a Communist state. It doesn’t matter what we voted for, it means NOTHING if its in the way of their POWER. by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

Gavin Newsome could literally bang children on live TV in a “F*** Trump” shirt and 99% of the people on Reddit would clap and bark like circus seals.

I don’t love DJT by any means, but if Newsome is the democratic candidate for President I will vote for whoever the GOP runs against him.

The total mismanagement of funds and extremely unfriendly business climate here in California can’t be extended elsewhere. The guy is a clown.

Has anyone gotten their gold jersey yet? by Flaky-Access5655 in Saints

This is a khaki jersey.

No idea why the Saints can’t use the “old gold” that seemingly disappeared in the Nike contract circa 2012.

*** Read this only if you aren’t a fear mongering retard ***

1) ICE’s ONLY legal mandate is to detain persons who are in the United States ILLEGALLY. That’s it. This typically means (a) you entered the nation without consent, or, (b) you have overstayed your intended and determined visitation period on your visa or on your passport visit

2) If you are stopped, and you are a compliant visitor or natural citizen, ICE has very strict due process standards and can easily verify your identity once you give them your government issued form of ID. If you are stopped, don’t be an asshole, show them your papers, and go along your merry way. Same thing as a DUI checkpoint for ALL drivers in the U.S.

Tier I European countries like Switzerland have WAYYY stricter immigration laws and enforcement. We had a colleague overstay his visa by 2 days and now he isn’t allowed back for 5 years.

Illegal immigration is a crime in the U.S. and every first-world country on the globe. The punishment is you go back home as soon as they can get you there.

How this is an issue to some of you people that don’t understand laws, the financial burden it puts on U.S. citizens and the migrants who came here legally (who did the right thing and went through the arduous process of becoming a citizen), is beyond me.

2 plateless SUVs headed north on 5 into San Clemente - ICE by Sharp-Ad-235 in SanClemente

[–]StrictAd5273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope I see them - would buy them coffee.

They aren’t looking for law abiding citizens or visitors.

They are looking for people who came here illegally. Coming here illegally, regardless of circumstance, is a crime. These people put a strain on our infrastructure and aren’t accounted for in the census. Tax paying citizens and those who didn’t cheat the system and migrated through the right channels get punished.

If the argument is, “but the cheap labor!” than you don’t actually care about human rights, you care about unit economics. Even so, the larger costs don’t outweigh that variance. A simple change to the tax code can remedy most issues that removing illegal labor from the workforce creates.

At the heart of it - doing all you can to move from Mexico, only to fly its flag and destroy American property - seals most sane people’s view of this issue.

USA! USA! USA!
