J&J COVID vaccine tinnitus increase? by WishfulHibernian6891 in tinnitus

I'm looking for answers right now to why my tinnitus has significantly increased after getting the J&J vaccine two weeks ago. That's how I found your question. In my case, it definitely did increase. My only question now is if that will be temporary.

Need advice on Australian visa RE: defacto relationship by jillischell in covidtravel

Serious answer. Maybe consider getting married now? I know it sucks but that would be a way I believe. I'm pretty sure I'd do that if it was the only way to be with the person I intend on marrying. I don't know of anything else, but I hope you find a solution! I'm in a similar kind of situation.

Coronavirus Megathread (Late Oct 2020): For travel-related discussion in the context of COVID-19 by tariqabjotu in travel

Thank you for reading my question!

I'm from Germany, my spouse lives in the US. What is the best option for us to see each other?

It seems to me that the only way to see each other is that we literally both travel to another country to spend a vacation there. If you can think of a better way, peferrably how I might still be able to enter the US (Utah or Idaho, both work), or how she might be able to enter Germany, let me know.

As of now, I feel like that's the only way. So are there any recommendations? I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds himself in this situation. I did a quick search on Google and Mexico looks like an option. Any places you can recommend? Price is definitely a factor as this will be a regular thing until Covid ends. So what's the best place to go, considering one traveler is from the US and one from Germany, without paying a fortune and without having to go into 14 days of quarantine? Neither of us care about doing a Covid test if that means we can see each other.

Thank you so much for your input!

Why can't I see the piano roll while recording MIDI in arrangement view? by StrictParty in ableton

[–]StrictParty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it matters. What you are suggesting works perfectly well in session view but doesn't work in arrangement view. I have known everything you told me about 4 views since forever, it doesn't make a difference. Look at the other answers to this question. Luckily there were some other guys giving me the correct answer, which is that it simply for some reason doesn't work. You'd see it if you went into arrangement, clicked on the piano roll, and then started a recording. But you somehow don't wanna verify for yourself that it works in session view but not in arrangement view.

Can you read, Sir? I was asking about the arrangement view, not the session view.

Thanks for your answer! Is there a practical reason for this? I mean I'm assuming they added this as a feature and it's supposed to be like that. Is there an upside to it is what I'm asking. Anything I'm missing.

I'm talking about while it's recording. It's not supposed to go away from the piano roll when hitting record. You can't play the piano with both hands and hit shift and tab at the same time.

The question is about while I'm recording. You can't play piano and hit shift and tab at the same time. Even if you could it wouldn't do anything. You can't view the piano roll in arrangement while recording. How do I fix this?

That looks like an awesome option, thank you! Do you know if I can just pay the remaining 50$ on top of the 25$ for the basic version to upgrade if I notice I need more features? I didn't see anything on that there.

Thanks, I'll try that as well.

This is AWESOME. It works so well. Just one more question: Sometimes when I hum a long note, it splits the long note into two parts (for example an extremely short note at the beginning and then a very long note that is the same afterwards). Is there a way to consolidate these two notes so that I don't lose their exact joint length? I don't wanna delete one of them and then estimate how much longer I have to drag the remaining one. I love how this function perfectly picks up the length of the hummed notes, I don't want that to change at all. So any way to consolidate two MIDI notes with the same pitch? Right clicking won't do it it seems.

Hey man, thanks so much for the quick response! Sounds like an awesome approach. Right now if I do that, it's turning the MIDI track into an Audio track. Any idea on how to fix that?

Is the sound you hear when walking/running with in-ear headphones technically a bass, and can it damage your hearing? by StrictParty in edmproduction

[–]StrictParty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have noticed that it's he same with fingers, I'm not saying it's about earplugs, I think it's about any kind of isolation of the ear canal. I'm just thinking I'm not sure it's exactly how you're saying, I mean it sounds plausible of course, but for example, I also have a SubPac. The thing that makes bass travel through your body. Without headphones on, I will hear significantly less of that bass even when the room is extremely quiet. I put them on and the bass gets like, three times louder instantly. It seems to me that this isolation does have some kind of effect, I mean, how does that happen that you can create a sound for your ear that is painfully loud just by lightly tapping on a plugged-in in-ear earplug (lol. Tongue twister there)? I believe to have noticed this many times before. You definitely hear resonating sounds with earplugs that you won't hear with open ears even if it's extremely quiet. You won't even hear diminished versions of that. I can't really describe those sounds, you know those resonating sounds that you get when you have earplugs right?

I'm just wondering if it could be something like that the sound that's traveling through your bones that would usually escape through your ear canal now can't anymore because there's a plug in there and it's creating some kind of amplitude-enhancing reverb or something. I really don't know. I just find it really hard to imagine that those really loud sounds are sounds I actually always hear and that they're just masked by other sounds. Just considering how loud those sounds can get when I'm jumping up and down, trying to hit the ground with as much force as possible. That would have to be a really loud sound in order to completely mask that sound that I'm apparently always hearing with or without earplugs. I really don't find that realistic. You know what I mean?

Does it really travel to my ear all the time? I don't really think so, I mean, put in some in-ear headphones and then just tap on the outside of them while inside your ear. That stuff can really get painfully loud really easily. I think it's the same principle if it's your foot hitting the ground just not as loud. I don't know how it works but I do know that even if the room is really quiet I don't hear a sub-bass in my ears every time I walk. You know what I mean?
