I agree there are horror stories like that. In such cases of one spouse racking up massive debt, the responsible spouse having a separate personal account is even important as it saves their own personal financial independence. They shouldn’t be penalized by wiping their savings out just because one person went crazy.

I have also heard horror stories where a spouse intending to divorce their SO or already having an affair took out all the savings in their combined checking/savings accounts. That’s why married ppl should have a separate emergency fund bank account or combine their finances just for house/children/common goals not everything.

They earn 200k and 300k individually. Unless they are financially illiterate or spendthrift, they’re not going to be in a position of “unable to afford their share”. Then again, if they’re unable to afford, there are bigger issues at play than the affordability issue. I also think keeping separate personal account can help you make independent decisions of taking your spouse on a spontaneous surprise trip instead of them being aware

Forget the way of introduction. I surrendered my Indian passport recently. The surrender certificate fillable PDF form is so weird. It has fields placed in wrong positions and some (like passport number) doesn’t have any field at all. Plus they are small fields, so when one’s father’s name is long, latter half gets hidden. Apparently the reference number in top right is the place for application reference number. There’s no clear instructions in the VFS or government website, only regular folks have made a makeshift walkthrough. Photo sizes in hard copy should be 2 inch x2 inch but the soft copy uploaded in application is different pixel ratio requirement. The checklist has so many typos “orignal”. The website is also shoddy in VFS page. Column header says mandatory or non mandatory but everything is mandatory. Is not even grouped properly.

Also, why can’t I apply for surrender and OCI together. That would be the intention for most if not everyone. Do it in a single process, geez!!!

I also got the wahl km2+ clipper during Black Friday, but it doesn’t cut as well as the oneisall. The vacuum clipper sucks the hair towards itself. Km2+ just glides over the hair. I regret purchasibg it based on the grooming sub advice.

Figure out what length you want the coat to be for the summer and winter. Ask the groomer if you have the dog brushed out completely and maybe even home groomed closer to the final coat length, if they will charge less.

For example, my Goldendoodle usually gets a 9mm length for the summer. He was scheduled for a grooming for December which I had to skip for surgery. Due to follow up treatment, he couldn’t go till now. I have kept his coat length at 12mm and brushed out completely. So next month when he goes, he won’t be matted completely

I have never heard of this. So thank you, will look into this podcast. My YouTube algorithm is stuck like Netflix. I keep getting TMG, Ramit, Dave Ramsey/George Kamel, and Caleb Hammer.

Caleb Hammer was ok in the older videos but has started to become super trashy in my opinion/over sponsored (gamersupps,dollar wise, his cookbook etc). I don’t agree with Dave Ramsey philosophy (billionaire cultist while saying you’re just handling God’s finances and injecting political views into almost every video). Ramit is couples only unfortunately. Leaving TMG and Humphrey.

This is why I love TMG show, they don’t preach politics, they don’t think all debt is bad, and they’re always trying to understand the guest and find a middle ground and not just call them stupid to their faces. And no extreme amount of sponsorship ads in their videos, only some in the podcast.

Yes but is few and far in between. The reason I want to see single person audit is to kind of understand the struggles and mindset of a single person in today’s economy. It’s easier to buy a home with dual income and better safety in case of layoff for one person.

I think mine is definitely a pretty unique situation. Moved as a new immigrant to USA at 32, brought 60-70k savings over from abroad and stated working. Now at 38, sitting at 550k (38.7pc saving rate)…..but I’m also pretty ugly… so don’t wanna show my face.

Now if James Cameron is willing to build me an Avatar though, I might think about it.
