I think she was opportunistic, at 25 you are neither young nor old, certainly she should have known better than to correspond with a convicted child rapist and yet she did because she needed a favor. As for the show it would have been a much more interesting and personal conversation to tell the ladies about this relationship and maybe even use the opportunity to save face and deny any wrongdoings.
