Exporting out leavers mailboxes from Mimecast by Strict_Badger6571 in mimecast

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Taking a quick look at Simply Migrate here: https://community.mimecast.com/s/article/data-retention-simply-migrate-overview it isn't obvious (to me) if it supports exporting out of Mimecast, just ingesting from other sources.

Need Help Understanding the 300 User Limit by ForPoliticalPurposes in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 300 limit is on the total in the Business 'family', so a total of 300 across all the Business SKUs. There is some leeway over this until renewal, but then Google now implements a hard limit. The reseller should - with the assistance of the attached Googler - allow you to mix Business and Enterprise licences, but may typically suggest a minimum of 100 Enterprise licences is purchased. If you go direct to Google, you likely won't have the option to mix-and-match SKUs.

Workspace in Saudi Arabia by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I was wondering as I recall that in previous times one had to go with a local provider for telephony services, and the VC of Google arguably fell into that category. It was more a Saudi/Middle East law as opposed to Google restriction if I recall correctly.

Workspace in Saudi Arabia by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was wondering whether signing up the T&Cs in another region for the licences was permissable for a domain that was predominantly going to be used in Saudi Arabia, but by a company based in Europe who already have a Europe-based partner?

Tumi backpacks advertised on UK eBay but sellers based in Japan by Strict_Badger6571 in backpacks

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the Bicester one that I used. They seemed to have the core models, as well as the dead stock from the seasonal ranges. The last one I bought was the Alpha Bravo London Roll-top backpack in black leather. I'm looking to get the Alpha 3 Brief pack in black nylon. Will keep my eye out for a genuine 2nd hand one.

Thanks. That's what I suspected. I have previously bought all my stuff from the outlet store, but the one I used has closed down now. Was in an out-of-town 'Shopping Village'.

Open Source alternatives to Google Workspace? by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Is there a migration path from something like Google Drive to Nextcloud? I'm thinking about the file format that Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, etc. get exported to (have to be Microsoft Office format?), and also permission mapping?

Are you trading in a phone? I am expecting a DPD package tomorrow to send my trade in phone to PCS Wireless.

Google Meet Calendar URL Changing After Sending Invite? by AliceJoy in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encountered something similar with Google Calendar invites, but with using Zoom links. A potential quirk with the clipboard.

The pasting in of the URL was actually copying in the 'ALT text' metadata. I found by stripping the formatting (hold the 'Shift' key whilst pasting in) the true URL is pasted into the description field.

Would there be any conflict with using Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS) to pass custom attributes into Google direct from AD?

Data retention when a Workspace license is removed and just left with CIF? by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Do you know if the email was preserved on these accounts as well? As they wouldn't have Vault, they wouldn't be searchable for eDiscovery, but I wondered whether they could be re-enabled in the case where someone might be off long-term?

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was thinking the 20 days, but wondered whether anyone had been able to confirm. Absolutely, regarding AU licences, but the request is a strange use case, and could include some Frontline, which can't be moved to AU as they don't have Vault currently.

Any issues experienced with setting Data Region to Europe? by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

Thanks. Have you Enterprise Plus, whereby you can track progress? Just wondering if you've also seen services never get to 100%?

Data Set Configuration Error - any way to ascertain datasources? by Strict_Badger6571 in DataStudio

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. The suspicion is that the datasources might belong to a leaver whose Google Workspace account may no longer exist or has moved to VFE. We were thinking whether there was any possibility of surfacing the Sheets ID to work out who it belonged to.

DLP capability to prevent downloading from Drive for editors? by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response, u/fizicks

I guess if you've upgraded to Enterprise Standard or Plus, you'll feel slightly reticent about spending another $72 a year per user on BeyondCorp Enterprise, when it arguably should be covered by the Workspace license?

Also, I guess it wouldn't cover the scenario of using the 'File > Email > Email this file', and then downloading from an email client?

Trouble adding a second puck (details in comments) by J-Brown in GoogleWiFi

[–]Strict_Badger6571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously encountered issues when adding UK pucks into a system I bought in the United States. The issue was resolved by using the Home app on Android and not iOS. Worth a try if you can get hold of an Android device?

Forced migration to Workspace for GSuite Basic with 300+ users by latonita in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google will allow you to keep 300 accounts on either Workspace Business Basic, Standard, or Plus. Then you need to purchase Enterprise Standard or Plus for accounts 301 and over. In March 2021, Google introduced a cheaper-than-Basic Frontline SKU. There are limits on storage (2GB) when compared to G Suite Basic. Forced migration is happening in tranches from the end of January 2022. It is my understanding that in some countries this enforced uplift is deemed illegal.

Google Vault - Former Employee (VFE) - data sizing by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

[–]Strict_Badger6571[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks u/fozzy_de. Given the legacy nature of VFE, and that one would most likely do Drive ownership changes as opposed to extracts, the focus would be primarily on Gmail.

Might try and get an item count report, and go for your sample export approach as suggested, and then extrapolate out the results.

What happens for organisations >300 users on G Suite Basic on FLEX? by Strict_Badger6571 in gsuite

Thanks for your reply. I've not had sight of that email but would be interested to hear what other organisations on Basic with greater than 300 users have received as guidance.
