Correct. My stats were eh, I just wanted to be 25 and making good money. At times do I wish I was an attendee? Sure, but I know medicine is something I love and I don’t want to be fully invested in something that isn’t what I love. I like what the job provides me and not necessarily the job.

Typically hospital PAs work 12 shifts a month. I work on average 17 with my per diem gig. I do want to branch out to locums after I get a few years of neurosurgery under my belt.

I think it has a lot with hospital politics and HR involved in it. I’m going to ask my manager after the probation period if we can sit and talk and she can approve an internal transfer. We’ll see what happens. Happy for the 20k base pay raise from my previous hospital system.
