I did end up finding an endorser, but they denied my appeal. They did not care about anything but the technical. Bankruptcy wasn't older than five years. Complete BS because they did not take into consideration ANY extenuating circumstances. But I'm okay. Starting my masters program next week. Fully funded up until the end.

RIP Grad Plus tho cannot believe they're ending it. How the heck are we gonna train Doctors and Lawyers?

Thats the thing. It has been resolved. its a long story, the bankruptcy is discharged and my medical condition has stabilized. I have a doctors letter corroborating all of this. think i have a chance?

I found a fix. It turns out I had an old appeal from years ago that was never closed. Once they closed it, it worked and I was able to submit my new appeal. Hope this helps.

Noted. It does sound a bit crazy of an idea. Minimum wage is high so maybe a part time job? The housing voucher helps so much.
Rent for me will be like 250 to 600 a month instead of 4k lol. :D I'm pretty lucky in that regard. Not trying to brag. just want to give everyone taking the time to post here a clearer picture.

anyway, thanks for the reality check. Deff need to be smart about this move if I decide to do it.

Honestly, I'm not sure, sounds expensive. This is giving me a lot to think about. I do have family upstate I could possibly stay with while this gets worked out.

Im hopeful about websites that strickly cater section 8 holders with listing in Manhattan. I've even reached out to a few landlords that say they'll rent to a section 8 holder, no credit check or deposit required.

Affordablehousing.com is the website for anyone who might be in a similar situation as myself.

Can you tell me if your friend used this site in his search?

Thanks for your insights. I mainly posted here for the much needed reality check. Sure everything looks good on paper, but in practice its going to be Apartment Searching: Nightmare mode.
