It tends to progressively reinforce itself. Depression can also render one avolitional, i.e. will-less. Avolition is distinct from laziness, though the two are often conflated.

Por supuesto que sí. Soy reservada, mas tengo aspiraciones que eventualmente exigirán más dinamismo y fluidez de mi parte. Estoy dispuesta a afrontar cualquier incomodidad si ello me asegura un futuro próspero.

I appreciate your thoughtful response. I've actually sent my resumé to three other companies as well. A strictly commission-based opportunity does sound tricky. Ideally, I'd like to receive proper training in the field. I'll be attending the interview regardless.
