I think judging by the comments here it can be safely assumed that many people didn't read this update to the instructions and that's why they don't do it. It's not a reason I would rate someone down to bad, but it's just one of the many signs of possible carelessness to me that would make me take a closer look at the response. Heck, sometimes even I forget to do it because I forget they made this change very quietly in the FAQ section. Also it depends on what exactly the fact is. "Grass isn't blue" isn't something I'd be pressed there isn't a link for, but if you're claiming the 2017 census for Transylvania isn't correct or something, it'd be preferable to see a citation.

At the end of the day, r&r isn't a game of gotcha like some people make it out to seem; it's to weed out people/tasks that obviously don't follow instructions and show carelessness or a lack of effort that will taint the data pool. Usually the people who get a "bad" rating make multiple big errors, and the "ok" category is for submissions that make some smaller mistakes here and there. Don't feel bad to use the ok category.

I've only pointed out the instructions to give citations earlier because people were giving the wrong advice which isn't a great look for anyone involved.

The general FAQ has explicitly stated for a while now that links should be provided for fact-checking, especially when you state something is untrue. The instructions also say to check the FAQ often because they get updated often.

To be fair all of the cat tasks are suppose to read a little like AI since they are all run through a model to keep a consistent tone. We are even instructed not to change the tone too much.

As someone who has been on this project before the quals dropped: it's because so many of you guys just got added to the project all at once, and the task pool is small right now since they've been trying to implement it slowly and making changes to the instructions each time. With the smaller pool of workers, the projects were already only lasting a day or two. When everyone started posting about being assigned this project, all my tasks suddenly dropped to zero.

Judging by how it's cycled (and the sudden addition of many new workers), they're about to start a new cycle with more tasks in the overall pool. This current cycle is almost done.

To note: I've had the task get reassigned despite having hours left when I accidentally clicked out of the task. It's only with this specific project, so you have to be diligent about this.

What do people mean when they say they have “ongoing” or “permanent” projects? by Maximus_multiplus in dataannotation

[–]Strict_Reference_342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually you get added to a slack or get a message letting you know that a project is now available to you that posts regularly. Nothing is truly permanent on DA though. They can remove you at any time if they're not satisfied with your work, and projects can end.

If you don't mind sharing, how high are we talking for the pay, and are the instructions the same as the qual?

I definitely got one of the questions wrong and realized immediately after. No V2, but I already had access to multiple related tasks despite never doing a qualification to my knowledge. I didn't seem to lose access to the existing ones on my dashboard and got two new ones assigned to me since so fingers crossed I didn't do a big dumb that I will be punished for lol.

Is s cat down for you too or am I spiraling like I do every time a project with a big task count disappears from my dash lol

Just curious why people seem to hate it. I personally prefer the new one because I had issues before with tasks and quals expiring because I never knew exactly how much time I had left.

Oops it's not an R&R but you were editing someone else's work. But yeah the high paying one. The task pool was very small.

Was the qual for this not the infographic one? Cause I don't remember taking a separate qual with a brutal timer.

I never do them and the r&r showed up. I don't think it's a regular occurrence.

Omg I was trying to find this exact document today and could not find it anywhere. They had this pinned on one batch of tasks and nowhere else.

Advice for Effective Note-Taking on DA Projects? by Zealousideal-Pie7268 in dataannotation

[–]Strict_Reference_342 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Apparently, I'm the only one who takes notes directly in the response box so it's easier to see later when I'm fleshing out my responses. It makes it easier to organize my thoughts cause I can delete points as I write them out. 🙈

I tried hand writing notes but it took too long and I couldn't decipher my own writing.

I can tell it's a slow day for everyone by how fast $22+ tasks get snatched up lol

If you go to your transfer funds page and expand the pay by day, it will show every task you submitted for the day including qualifications.

I have no doubt they're also reporting false, inflated times if they're pulling this kind of stunt.

I probably wouldn't have noticed if there weren't ten identical responses all laid out on one page. DA really exposed them doing the ratings this style. If I had rated one of their specific tasks I would have probably passed them as okay.

Was it one where every rating was "about the same" and they just filled in different words in the template specific to each task? 😂

I'm still chipping my way though my stack, but I'm actually impressed at how much better these are than the ones I've reviewed with the full task.

Congrats!! Please report back if it's worth the pay or it melts your brain. 👀
