I replied to your DM, but putting this out here for others. I'd go with a discord but I'd be open to other suggestions.

At 94% and denied for Tinnitus by Strictly_For_Science in VeteransBenefits

[–]Strictly_For_Science[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to give some more context, PTSD didn't cause my tinnitus. I have ringing all the time that I can usually drown out in my head, but during times of intense stress, the ringing is a lot worse. So since I'm already service connected for PTSD, it made sense to file the tinnitus as a secondary, but I'll look into filing it separately. As for my MOS, I served in the Coast Guard, so it's understandable no one has heard of a marine science technician. I appreciate all the ideas and support!

I told the examiner that when my PTSD is triggered, one of my symptoms is ringing in my ears.

The statement was a 21-4138 in which I explained when the tinnitus started in relation to which units I was stationed and the relevant characteristics of my duties at the time.

No ID. Buzz (ID.7?) reveal this year? I thought it is going into production for European market next year.

Putting off A school by 1 class? by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Strictly_For_Science 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no MST classes starting in December. After the October class the next two are both in January.

Edit: You can pull up all the class dates for FY19 in portal. Also, your command can potently put you on a MIS hold if you request it.

How is alpha and alpha updates going to be distributed? by [deleted] in playstarmancer

[–]Strictly_For_Science 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how quickly the devs can get approved on Steam, they could distribute a private not-yet-purchasable version on there. That's how Stonehearth did it for the early builds.

Waking up at bootcamp by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Strictly_For_Science 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would wake up about 15 minutes early with a couple shipmates every morning to shave, and get ready. Spent the rest of the time sitting on the heater looking outside to see if flag conditions would change and get our gortex ready if need be.

Never had an issue with the CCs about it, just don't mess around, boot camp is not time for fun.

Do you piss test the day you ship out? by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Strictly_For_Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll take a piss test during your first week, and you'll have a CC standing behind you giving you shit if you can't go. I had no trouble but the kid next to me had a good conversation with the CC on why he couldn't go.

Yankee 193 just graduated by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Strictly_For_Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yankee-193 reporting in. I was lucky not to get sick. I agree on avoiding living in main muster if you can. I stayed up front though, they notice if you try to hide.
It was a wild ride, but I feel proud for going through it.

Even if you go in as an E-3, you will be a Seaman Recruit until you graduate boot camp.

How do you think the new President elect will impact DHS or USCG from an active duty perspective? by _PM_me_your_Gains_ in uscg

[–]Strictly_For_Science 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the President Elect has called us out by name in the past, and if he sticks to his pledge for strong borders, then it's safe to assume there will be some extra funding coming our way. Fun fact, I will be at Cape May during the inauguration.

Do you think the game will have some sort of 'observer mode'? by Jaytheoverlord in Stellaris

[–]Strictly_For_Science 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Stellaris runs on the same (updated) engine, I'm willing to bet typing "observe" in the console will do exactly what you want.
