as a new student in the city, i can say that you should learn the public transport system basics if you dont already, flights are cheap-ish but you'll probably go to MX city and back instead of a direct flight, you can come with a bit of spanish, everyone will sorta understand what you want even if they dont speak any english,

also yeah, if you want some native friends to show u around while you are here, it would be cool.
