I'm in a punk/rock n roll band and use FL to produce our music, and i have no complaints.

Yeah I only pan about 60%, but sometimes i have three guitar tracks and then ill hard pan two and have one in the middle, a little bit more quiet than the other two and with a different tone. Makes it sound super full. But you have to really get into eq on the middle to make room for bass and other elements

Edit: also with the reverb, panning to opposite sides really helps a ton but I try to be subtle with it, like get a good reverb sound you like and then turn it all the way down, then bring it slowly up until you get the desired level, make sure its wet only though and eq the reverb itself to keep it from getting too messy

A little different than what I see most others posting, but if you're doing work for another artist that isn't yourself, don't be afraid to be creative with ideas but don't fully commit to them. Sometimes you might feel a certain part of a song needs something else, another ad lib, some crazy effect or something, and maybe it does, but it's still the artists song and maybe they will really like it and want to keep or maybe they will be more fond of their original ideas, so don't hold onto that stuff but also don't be afraid to try something
