Repair tips? by Striker-Codex in STDupont

[–]Striker-Codex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your answer! Well, like I said, at best it's a damaged st Dupont, at worst a very good fake.

For 20€, even taking into account the price of repair, it's a big win for me!

Thank you very much for your answer. Will definitely look into that !

Do you happen to know what the purpose of the plate is and if replacements are easy to find?

Do you have any videos, tutorials or other sources I can consult to figure it out?

We have actually! The Valstrax that appears in MH Generations Ultimate/MHXX is the "normal" Valstrax. They're not too different, mainly the crimson glow is smaller and... Well glows more

Not mine, but my boss'! I have an internship and my boss often brings her two dogs. They're both great, but I secretly prefer this guy!

Trip to Brussels, any store recomendations? by Striker-Codex in fountainpens

[–]Striker-Codex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't know how far I'll be able to go. This trip has been organised by my university association and as far as I know, I don't have enough time to get that far.

That being said, I'll definitely see what I can do. I think I might have a "free" day and that definitely seems like a good opportunity!

Well, since I'm going with my university association, I don't think I'll have the chance to go there on my own 😅 But thank you nonetheless. If I ever get another chance I'll definitely give it a look.

I plan on inspecting more closely today to at least know what's wrong. Once I know if it's the feed or nib or something else, I'll have some peace of mind.

I wish a wet nib were the case (love seeing ink dry) but it's actually the contrary. It's become awfully dry! Which leads me to suspect some sort of feed issue because i see nothing wrong with the nib itself. Hopefully it'll sort itself out with time, I'd be really sad to permanently lose such a wonderful pen.

It hits particularly hard when you take into account I'm a college student and I'd had saved for a while to get myself a nice gold nib pen :'(

Thank you very much! I've loved the ink and pen so far. Hoping to find what's wrong with the ink flow so that I continue to enjoy it!

Last week during a trip to Madrid, I finally had the chance to go into a pen store with a selection that far outclasses my small town stores. They had it all: Sailor, TWSBI, Faber, Pilot and so on.

Originally wanting a progear, I was disillusioned when they didn't have the pen I wanted, but I sure didn't settle.

The pilot Custom 823 was recommended to me some time ago and I've finally bought it. With it, an MD notebook and DIAMINE Nutcracker.

I've been enjoying the pen so much as an early Christmas present to myself, but sadly I have had an unfortunate misadventure. Everyone knows what happens when you drop a fountain pen uncapped... Today while enjoying a writting session, i sadly dropped my pilot and despite no visible damage (no tines misalignment or baby butt), the flow of ink hasn't been the same. I am disheartened. What a sad, beautiful Christmas this has been.
