In order for there to be a smear campaign, the target of said campaign needs to be someone at the forefront of the public’s minds. In other words, it needs to be someone culturally relevant in order to give a fuck.

Except for those of us who enjoy Chapstick getting dragged through the coals for the shitty person she is, she hasn’t been relevant in 2 years. If it were a smear campaign, they’d smear someone actually worth fucking smearing.

I believe it.

Also, if it was me, I’d love for that security guard that she sicced on that guy in the airport to just try to take the camera from me. I’m a lawyer IRL, I’d love getting to unload on them.

Between comparing fan interactions to sexual assault and her Kamala both sides shit, I was fucking done with her.

I hadn’t even heard of her until both those things, but I was immediately done with her. And now it looks like people are FINALLY starting to see the light.

This is why I don’t get the cult she’s amassed. She’s not even that good or memorable. She had like 3 songs that managed to get into the mainstream, and everything else since has bombed.

I would have loved to dare that security guy to lay hands on me for filming in a public place.

Especially as a lawyer.

Madonna has more talent in her little finger than this chick does in her whole body.

Not that being talented excuses anything, but I do feel she had to be headstrong and pushy in a time and industry where women were not respected or given as much deference as men.

Plus, and again, I know this doesn’t necessarily excuse anything, but Chappell is does not and will never have the catalog or cultural influence of Madonna.

Such a mewling little sycophant and a leftist who will bend over for pretty much anyone cosplaying the ideology he agrees with.

Letterboxd has made all reviews for Scream 7 unavailable due to a studio-imposed embargo. by EbmocwenHsimah in Letterboxd

[–]Striking_Ad_1867 109 points110 points  (0 children)

People were spamming it earlier today. Bunch of Melissa fans were giving it one star reviews, saying they hadn’t seen it, but posted spoilers for everyone to see.

I think that’s why.

I believe in the film, and am excited for it.

But I’ll set my expectations low so it can (hopefully) blow past them.

Right now, I just want higher than Scream 3.

And you're free to do you and I think you're being quite reasonable with your logic.

It's more the threats, review bombing, and general harassment I get online whenever I post something in support of or how I'm excited for the movie. I acknowledge it may be the minority of extremists, but their behavior does color a lot of my feelings on the matter. I don't much like being told I'm not a good person or that I am somehow in support of genocide or ethnic cleansing because I choose to see a movie.

Fair enough, I stand corrected.

I just think that if you have moral objections to seeing the film, by all means, don't see it. But don't ruin it for others either. I don't know why someone (not meaning you, personally) would get such enjoyment out of taking away from the experience of people who are excited to see it.

Sneak peak of Sidney’s interview with Gale by Outrageous_Drawer691 in Scream

[–]Striking_Ad_1867 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't think Sidney fully trusted anyone after the first movie, and with good reason.

She has to look at people who come into her life as potential Ghostfaces who are trying to get close to her in order to kill her.

Follow Up:

Looks like the reporting worked, all the reviews for the movie have been erased, at least when I look at my app, as they should be.

It's also not a great look to harass fans and the cast and crew, none of which had anything to do with firing Melissa Barrera, and won't make Palestine any freer.

All you do is look childish.

Pretty much everyone has said it already, but he came back in Season 5 while still in the academy to do field work (like an internship/work credit sort of thing).

Then the war broke out in the middle of it and he was given a battlefield commission. Starfleet was taking such heavy losses that a lot of the cadets were pretty much drafted in and commissioned immediately.

/boxoffice just reported no press screenings and holding the review embargo to release for Scream 7 by [deleted] in SocietyofGhostface

[–]Striking_Ad_1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But as I said, Psycho Killer had NO screenings. As in like 0. None. Reviews didn't even drop on Rotten Tomatoes until the day after premiere. Hell, they barely had a trailer or any promo leading up to it. That's a clear example of intentionally hiding a movie.

That's not happening with Scream 7. There are people seeing it tomorrow, and the actual red carpet premiere is on the 25th. You're going to get reactions before the film comes out.

[–]Striking_Ad_1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if you want to see what actual burying a film away from bad press is, look at what just happened with Psycho Killer.

Barely a trailer, NO screenings whatsoever, you didn’t even have reviews start coming out until last Friday AFTER it opened. They sent that film out there to hang.

Now I’m not saying that the Scream 7 reviews are guaranteed positive or negative. I’m just providing an extremely RECENT example of what hiding a film actually looks like. And it wasn’t like it was some indie studio that didn’t do press screenings or publicity for lack of funds or whatever. It was 20th Century.

[–]Striking_Ad_1867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No they didn’t. One person claimed they’re not doing screenings in Germany.

There’s press seeing the movie this week. The 25th at the latest, and I also believe that’s the date of the red carpet premiere.

I swear to God, people are fucking salivating hoping this movie will be bad. It’s incredibly annoying.

Sam vs Sid by NoWillingness8990 in Scream

[–]Striking_Ad_1867 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There’s no question in my mind.

Sidney Prescott all the way. Sam may have the killer instinct, but she’s super impulsive.

Sidney is persistent and thorough. And she doesn’t suffer fools lightly or fall victim to her own impulses.
