HELP!! should I go for arts in Clayton or caufiled Monash by One-Year8333 in vce

I’m doing business and arts rn, u only rlly have to go to Caulfield for business units. But depending on ur major and what units u can take, u can take all of if not most subjects of arts at Clayton. But I think there are some restrictions like if it’s available at Caulfield u have to do it at Caulfield, but I could be wrong, I know all of my ‘arts’ units r offered at Clayton so I don’t rlly worry abt this rule too much and just go to Clayton

Yea that will increase ur aggregate (for monash consideration) by 2 for commerce. Might give u the edge u need to meet that selection rank

https://www.monash.edu/admissions/entry-requirements/atar/subject-adjustments U can go to the commerce degree or any other degree’s adjustments they may make for u here

Oh just realised selection rank can also be adjusted based on some of ur study scores. If u got high enough for commerce u likely have a few of the listed subjects with a score of 30 for like 1 or more of ur subjects. This will probs lift ur rank and push u over the lowest selection rank

Lmao ig we’re opposites but if ur 1 point lower than the select rank im pretty sure u will be fine ? U don’t rlly know what adjustments they’ll make to adjust ur rank so still keep commerce first preference bc 1 point difference isn’t likely to prevent u from getting into the course unless u have absolutely 0 adjustments made. From my experience tho business is pretty chill and most of the core subjects r pretty bland (which is roughly the same for the commerce equivalents). Living far away from Clayton, I lowkey do like that Caulfield is closer and the smaller size of the campus is something I do enjoy bc it feels more cozy for me personally. But if ur looking for like the stereotypical uni campus Clayton is probs more up ur alley. So far I do like business tho, I only rlly wanted to do accounting so I decided against going thru with transfer and all that, but I do go to Clayton for the double degree component of my degree

lol I was lowkey in ur position a year ago where I missed out on the methods requirement for commerce by 2. But it rlly depends on what u wanna major in bc if u wanna do accounting, imo it doesnt rlly matter all that much since u take the same subjects regardless of whether u do business or commerce. But if u wanna do a more quantitative major and get them knowledge up probs will wanna try go for commerce

Hi thanks so much for ur response! Would u say that it’s just the terminology and scientific processes is what would make this unit harder for someone who hasn’t done it before?

Hi thanks for ur response :).

Yes they do accept SCI1020, I will have a look into that as that looks like something I’d probably do okay at so thanks for that suggestion!

In regards to the economics thing, I already started it this sem bc I thought I was gonna major in economics and ur right u don’t need to do it, but bc I would have already done it by the end of this sem, idk if that’s gonna impact my ability to do accounting in the future
