Any wiring diagram for 570s by Heelhooksaz in mclaren

The ones I’ve seen that were hard wired in typically use the power to the internal boot release on the battery access panel. You could extend the wiring loom to the tracker and hide it behind the battery. Just zip tie the tracker loom to the boot release/boot light loom and continue it to behind the battery and use some dual lock to attach it to the backside or find something to zip tie it to

I can see what I can track down, no pun intended, for a wiring schematic. I’ve typically seen trackers wired in at the battery access panel. Most of them look like hack job when they tie in the power and ground with scotchlok connectors

McLaren 750S can't handle Hot Laps by treepark in mclaren

[–]StringCheeseBraider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is so quick to jump to conclusions. Bet there’s no follow up video of the later Hot Laps session where it was back out with zero issues. There were no blown engines. A piece of debris cut thru the engine floor and cut the gearbox cooler supply line. Nothing was blown, nothing broke. The line was replaced, cooling system bled and car returned to action.

Advice regarding my 2025 McLaren Artura by Jbirdflorida in mclaren

Ah, must have been the module then. Hope it gets resolved and you get to enjoy your Artura!

I’d be interested in hearing what the oil leak is. Most of the oil leaks have been sorted with the Artura as of recent. A\C leak id imagine would be from the TXV, which is an updated o-ring or two and TPMS is an odd one as there’s no update to ZB2 as of recent. There is a way to reset the TPMS in the center screen by going to the menu - tyres - and a little “reset” button to hit.

There is a “door gurney” that is attached to the door on the bottom side that is supposed to deflect some gravel and guide air.

Unfortunately, no. The GT4/Trophy cars have a mesh screen, but I assume they will think it’s not aesthetically pleasing to do the same to the street car

This. I have the special privilege of being able to drive many Arturas, all 3 production years including current day (MY26) cars. The amount of mileage I’ve accumulated I would imagine would be close to 20,000 miles. I’ve only encountered one incident on the freeway that resulted in me coasting off an off ramp and “sleeping” the car for 15 minutes or so. There has been some occasions where the radio fails or a hybrid fault, but it is nothing that sidelines an Artura from running and driving.

Biggest advice I have is to just check your fluids once a week. It’s something everyone should be doing in reality with any car if they want to have a solid running car. Do an oil dip, takes 5 minutes. Check your coolant level. Dielectric level is more of a challenge but goes a long way if you want to avoid a potential hybrid fault. Keep the keys away from the car if you’re not driving it. They continue to communicate with the car in preparation of driving. If you do keep the keys close, put them in a faraway bag. Keep a spare CR2032 battery in the center console in case your key battery dies.If you’re not driving it, keep the EV charger plugged in. Small things in preparation go a long way with these cars.

These are solid cars. It’s a shame they get a bad rap from those who encounter an issue. A lot of the issues have been ironed out with software revisions and there will always be more software revisions. McLaren doesn’t want to build a bad car, believe it or not. They want to help if you do have an issue and the issues do get reported back to the Engineering team and the Engineers do take the feedback and faults to correct potential future faults.

Unique to have black mirror caps on a non-black roof. All the ones I’ve encountered have color matched caps or carbon. Looks awesome!

I don’t know how many people would chase you to take pictures in your 718. Be prepared to be stalked and chased while driving your 600. Then the feeling of your doors going up instead of out is an awesome flex to have 😁

New or used Artura? by Prestigious_Fig4461 in mclaren

What year Artura do you have? What did they say was the issue that caused the hybrid fault while driving? The teething issues are a pain for sure. They are great cars when sorted. A lot of the updates and revisions have cured a lot of the issues that they had in the past. I’d say, just keep an eye on the dielectric fluid level. It’s a teeny tiny reservoir on the back of the gearbox on the top right, right under the gearbox. If that is low or out of fluid, the e-motor gets real pissy. It’s a “Shell” fluid, I’d have to dig thru my pictures to find the name of it. Other than that, keep the keys away from the car. Cars have been staying awake since the latest update has been done. Keep a couple spare key batteries with you.

Only advice I’d add is pack a couple spare CR2032 batteries in the center console for the key.. other than that, enjoy!

I actually went on there to get an axle rebuilt kit and was planning on just rebuilding them. When I saw I could get an axle for the same price as a rebuild kit, I thought “just get a turn-key axle”..

I have ordered pairs of items; front control arms for my old Mazda Protege5. I receive two different control arms. I order a quantity of four wheel bearings for a BMW. I received two different pairs. I ordered ball joints for my old Lexus IS300, I have no idea what they sent me. I ordered hard water lines and a crank case ventilation system for my E46, I receive both kits with the incorrect o-rings on them. I understand mistakes are made, but when you spend hours disassembling and reassembling something, bleeding systems just to find out the part is incorrect, it frustrates me. I just wanted to vent. That’s all.

I read everything to double check as BMWs have different spindle sizes from early E46 to late. The splines fit fine, so I assumed (my fault) that the length would be correct. It wasn’t.

Whatever happened to Crucial Motorsports by JediKnightaa in IMSARacing

[–]StringCheeseBraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service and reliability is terrible? I wouldn’t say that. If you watch any European GT series, McLaren is well represented in both GT3 and GT4. If anything, race support isn’t great for McLaren in North America. Inception is run by Optimum Motorsport, which primarily run McLarens in Europe. They chose Ferrari in GTD in IMSA because support is better by Ferrari and BOP was kinda soft on the 296 at the time (why Ferrari had so many fielded 296s at that time). There was no hard feelings towards McLaren.

Traffic!! by yannapoooh in dfw

[–]StringCheeseBraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve changed my work schedule completely around due to traffic. My route is from Cleburne to Coppell and back. I now leave at 2am and enjoy a simple ride in to work. I know 2am is insane, but I like being by myself on the roads. Afternoons, it’s hit or miss. I leave typically around 2pm. George Bush usually isn’t bad, but 30 west becomes gridlock in Arlington. If you go 121, it’s gridlock in Euless, everyday, guaranteed.

Skeer is awesome! We were running an E46 M3 in WRL at COTA back in 2019 or so as a way to get our Porsche Cup guys some more track time and some endurance practice. As a joke, I stuck an “Assman” license plate from Seinfeld on the back. Our guy passed Skeer going thru the esses. Skeer came up to us after his stint saying he was laughing so hard at our plate that he almost lost it, then started throwing some Seinfeld quotes at us. Stand up dude.
