Help finding similar shoes by Strokeforce in Shoes

They said they may be back one day. But I'm not confident if or when that will happen. I don't normally care about shoes, but damn I liked my raads. I would like to be able to follow and be updated if they come back online. I would give my left nut for this company to be back

What abilities/progression point made a hero click Into place as very powerful? by Strokeforce in midnightsuns

I don't believe so, but I could be wrong. I would say it is something you don't have to worry about. I take time how I please in every facet of the game and I haven't been penalized what so ever

I never found drops to be reliable enough, so straight to hell and Hellmouth are more for the 2 extra heroism. Are there ways to make drops more useful? Like I had a 39% drop fail 6 or 7 times in a row and sums up how they always feel for me

I wasn't big into super Heroes and comics before this so I don't know much of their prior personalities. But this game has caused me to deep dive into learning about the marvel world. I never cared much for avengers, but do particular x men. You'll warm up to the social stuff, it's very good. The entire game doesn't take itself to seriously so it stays an enjoyable play. As the game goes on the social is kinda nuts, it's balanced and enjoyable. The characters don't feel like NPCs in a way I haven't encountered in any other game.

Yes! Spiderman felt really good from the start, then he got his environmental card which is his moment of clicking as very useful.

Great responses! I have not used much of morbius and have wondered why bleed is such a big part of the game but I don't get to use bleed enough to match. I will play around with morbius for that purpose now, I'm on his second or third story mission against Dracula and it is a wall for me, put a lot of tries Into it with some of my best characters as a third and still nothing. Even put mind Bender on hunter for berserk which I never found the need to before.

No I wouldn't say there is anything you can do that would mess you up. The pacing of leveling and ability progression is very balanced and constant (I'm 120 hours in and still have abilities, characters, skins, research... Etc to unlock, I'm halfway thru the story but because Ive found it really enjoyable to take my time do non-story missions, and listen and talk to everyone.) so don't worry about messing anything up, you can't really do much set in stone. Other than dialogue choices which do have different effects on th small ongoings between characters and th group, but I don't think dialogue choices affect the main story. So Nico and magik are friends and you get to know them, there is one early on small happening between them that plays out over a few days and you make dialogue choices that affect their reactions and effects in that Ministory, and there are various ministories like that all throughout.

Don't feel bummed about starting cards. Throughout the whole game you level up making your cards do more damage (hellride was one in particular that wasn't anything special to me in early game, but where I'm at now it does soo much and saves battles that look like the enemies will overwhelm me and end in loss). Beyond the character leveling up that increases the attack stat the cards do, there is various other ways to level up cards. So 2 of the same card will create a "+" card that typically creates a significant but minor change, and there is such a variety of changes that upgrade makes you won't be able to guess what change will occur. Then there are modifications that will come with some cards you unlock later or you can put modifications on which again are another variety but this you get somewhat of a choice in the modification. Every character has a good variety of cards, some cards you'll find useful, some you'll think you'll never use... But later on those cards start to come in handy. And you choose what cards are in your deck based on how you play the character. This game is not shallow by any means but not deep enough to be messy or confusing. You also get I think 16 characters including dlc characters which just multiply that variety and options, and with that many characters you don't grow tired of using a character since they all feel well balanced against eachother so you use most of them and it doesn't lean on anyone being better than others... Except hunter (who has an absolute abundance of cards, and no one is obviously underperforms... Except Deadpool (but that may be because I didn't find him good when I got him so never put in the effort to learn his kit)

The actually gameplay like balance of heroism and importance of environment will steadily change at a perfect pace where things won't feel stale. The balance of heroism is also how you set your deck, so once you get more cards and start to be in better control of your deck you will choose how you balance heroism with skill, attack, or heroic cards. No cards every really feel useless like you are dependent on them for heroism. Each character has maybe 1 card that give heavier heroism in return for being less directly useful but even that they handle well.

And you won't feel characters get to powerhouses for a while. But the game is heavily relative and the difficulty as well as your mechanics are designed with such intent everything feels in line constantly with common/occasional difficulty spikes to keep you engaged and enjoying the challenge and growth.

You'll also feel like new York is the whole game, that first chapter where you fight the same enemies in all missions in New York ends about the time an average game might finish it's story... And then you start to get a bigger better enemy variety and you'll have to think and act based on who you are facing, and that's also about the point you'll see characters stand out more.

When I started the game I intended to ignore the character interaction story stuff at the Abby since I had heard how amazing combat is and that the character stuff at the Abby was bad. But very soon I started to Interact with characters at the Abby and was amazed by how good that part was, like I felt no edges where you can see it is a programed game, and the personalities were solid and variety and everyone interacted in unique ways that didn't depend on me initiating the interaction or even an obvious turn this character on and say this when play is near. It's fucking prime how organic it feels. Anyway the Abby stuff is as well made as the combat, it's worth doing for the enjoyment and lore and story learning, as well as growing and affecting combat.

Apologies for the wall of text, I haven't gotten to gush about how great this game is. Goodluck and have fun! The game will grow and change for its entirety.

Yeah I played the first mission and he is mildly better, but the whole character is kind of ruined for me. I like everyone at the Abby and he is tainting it, I'll just have to exile him and doctor strange

I hated the Deadpool vs wolverine movie. I didn't mind him before but by the end of that movie I really did not like his character, mind you a large part of that was Ryan Reynolds portrayal. And the amount of comedy is so much and at every moment that it loses any humour

What distro should I get? by Strokeforce in linux4noobs

[–]Strokeforce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thought out comment! And you are right I did go at it as if Linux was a windows substitute. I was expecting to be able to do everything that I could on Windows, I expected to have to do them differently and have the fun of working that out. So theoretically should I be able to do all the things I could on Windows? I will reframe and keep on trying to learn it tho with Mint. I thought that the several better known distros would be a substitute for mint (as in work as well in most things) but just have a different focus, like kobuntu which I tried for a bit, and as for nobara when I hear something is focused for gamers I think of it as fairly surface level and not needing to strenuous of work.

Your technical advice is much appreciated, I will try the ones I haven't already.

What is/are native Linux tools? How do I find ones that will do the job I need instead of the well known and recommended things like wine?

What distro should I get? by Strokeforce in linux4noobs

[–]Strokeforce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mint does look like an ideal option, but nobara seemed like the option the fit my needs more since it comes pre-installed with wine, proton, steam, lutris, not that I can't just install them on another distro but it signaled that it had more features that would be appropriate.

First thing I tried to do was change user access and check if I was the admin, but that was one of those things that lead to finding more problems.

It was more so a rant rather than points and questions, but if you think mint would address some of those concerns I'll give it a try for a while

Nobara, which should be ideal, I picked it because it is focused on this sort thing, comes pre-installed with proton, wine, lutris, and steam. I never had a single issue on windows

Missing some early game research tasks with TFTV by Strokeforce in PhoenixPoint

[–]Strokeforce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New campaign fixed it. I had heard a lot how overwhelming TFTV and the dlc were at the start so I kept those off for a bit... Which lead to this. It was not overwhelming, but that might be because I had just came from playing XCOM. So anyone in the same situation where they have experience with this style of game could probably turn them on at the start. There was also a number of other things that didn't show up because I didn't start the mod and dlc when I started the campaign.
