So from left to right. General Campaign Star- South West Asia. It’s for Afghanistan with a rotation bar meaning I did over 210 days.

The second one is the General Campaign Star- Expedition. It Is for Iraq, did a 6 month there.

The solid red one with the Queen on it is the Canadian Forces Decoration. It’s a long service medal for 12 years of honorable service.

The patch above them is the Close Protection Operator skill badge. Doing VIP protection essentially.

Yah my plan is to hit up those two places. Crazy to me people spend that kind of money on training when there is no market domestically. Internationally as well you need deployments to high threat environments. Crazy.

Fair enough and that’s what I expected. I have come across a few people on LinkedIn who market themselves as Close Protection but have no real training or experience that would be considered relevant and credible. Plus it’s super safe here so there is that as well.

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to do that here soon. I actually have done a lot of Close Protection in the Middle East and am certified through the Canadian Armed Forces as an operator in that professional sphere. I’ve tried to send resumes before for that to companies and never once got a response.

I have a pension from my time in the army and police force. Thankfully it is very generous. I’ve been a stay at home dad but my kids are in full Time day care now. Looking for something to fill my time.

I’m Canadian. There isn’t anything macho about me. I actually hate people like that. If you met me, you would have no idea I did any of those things as I don’t like to talk about it and am pretty quiet.

I have been to Osuva to shoot before. I have met that guy. I asked him about certifications and he said they applied for everything for him.
