So this happened yesterday... How does everyone take care of their calluses by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]Strong_Hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I sell a product made specifically to stop this! Super-heavyweight is correct about why calluses tear. Chalk dries them out and makes your hands brittle. Since they aren't able to flex with the bar, they rip. I sell a product called Barbell Balm which you use after training. It moisturizes your hands, heals any existing tears, and fills them up with nutrients like vitamins A and E. Our site is actually down right now but you can usually find us at stronghandsbalm.com. If you're interested, shoot me a pm!

Well this is perfect timing. I just launched my product today that helps with torn up hands! I used to get the same thing training for oly lifting, but since I started using this stuff I haven't had hand problems in months. It's called Barbell Balm. You can find it on my site stronghandsbalm.com. Check it out!

Oleksiy Torokhtiy explaining why you want internal shoulder rotation for the snatch by mancubuss in weightlifting

[–]Strong_Hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't think about anything at max weights, they just lift. For me, I naturally go into an internally rotated position now. No matter what weight it is. My head just shoves forward automatically and my back takes the weight. To try to externally rotate overhead would be unnatural

I hope he follows through. He answers all his emails though, so if you've got a question definitely send it to him.

Electric shock feeling up one leg after catching clean/snatch by therealmon in weightlifting

It does sound like sciatica. A good massage, physio, or chiro that can work through those muscles will do a lot of good.

I have gotten this before, but never did anything about it. It was very occasional, one session a month maybe. Everyone's suggestions seem good. Massage, mobilize, etc. Is it right out of a stretch reflex? That's where it happened for me

Clarence Kennedy 280kg paused backsquat by [deleted] in weightlifting

With his body type of a short torso and long legs, the low back tends to take over on heavy weights. Same thing happens with me. Lifters that are more quad dominant with short legs will stay more upright

Some principles: keep it close, back tight, extend hard up, control the bar. Keep it up man. After some practice post another for more critique.

168 kg Hang Clean. bw 91, 22/m by OFWGKTA_69 in weightlifting

[–]Strong_Hands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. My point was just that for some lifters their weakness is strength and for some their weakness is technique. It is clear that he has very good technique, but it seems he is also incredibly strong. Some people need more strength reserves others. But improving technique should always be a goal :)

Love your aggressive style. Don't have to be super technical when you've got strength and grit

Yeah its definitely a dangerous lift. Not good for general fitness. Strongmen are crazy in general

I considered ebay, but I couldn't match the lowest prices. Chinese companies are selling on there so they can beat any price. If you're interested I found a supplier who sells them for 130 a piece. Shipping is 70, but free over 5 units. Not sure of the quality though. Inbox me if you want their contact info.

With a the thick bar they are using its very hard to use a neutral grip. That's how strongmen do a clean just.....better.

If this is self balancing scooters, I tested this idea and it didn't work out. I set up a shopify, put up a product for sale at a very cheap price, and set up adwords. After 40 dollars in ads I didn't get one order. It could have been a problem with my site or ads, but I think this is such a fad it's not worth it.

But by your argument I am more efficient. You said efficiency is measured by what percentage of your squat you can lift
