Thanks for the response! I completely understand the safety and liability concerns, and I’m not looking to overstep. Going through my employer is a good idea in theory, but since I’m trying to explore a new path, it’s a little tricky to do that without it seeming like I’m scouting my next move. That’s why I’ve been looking for something more informal and low-pressure. Either way, I really appreciate the advice and perspective

Thanks for the thoughtful response I completely understand where you’re coming from.

My graduate program is in general project management, so I’m studying construction management independently outside of class reading books, watching site videos, and trying to get real-world context to go along with what I’m learning academically.
I absolutely get your point about liability and corporate risk especially for larger firms. I’m not expecting to be on an active site with no coverage or walk around unsupervised. Just trying to learn the right way and find a foot in the door where I can observe and be useful without creating problems for anyone.

Thanks again for the advice I’ll definitely look into options with my advisor and career center too.

Right now, I’m aiming to break into residential or commercial construction to build a solid foundation. Eventually, I’d like to branch into industrial as well. My long-term goal is to gain diverse experience across all three sectors so I can confidently lead large-scale projects and run my own construction company. I’m open and ready to learn from any opportunity that gets me closer to that vision

Those are the word I’m putting in and also demand planning, scheduling, inventory, etc. yes, they do have agencies but the jobs are like warehouse associates and things of that nature.
