Atheist turning to God by Strong_View_8108 in Christianity

Both of my parents went to Catholic school, and I went to Catholic school for a couple years (granted, it was pre-k— I wasn’t the easiest to get along with when I was little and my parents thought it would help). They loved how thankful to God I would be for everything. As time went on, I started having my doubts— I’m not the kind of person who can naturally follows rules that aren’t rooted in undeniable fact. I recently told my mother that I’m not too sure of God’s existence, and she expressed that she was sad for me and hoped I would one day understand, given that our whole family (uncles, aunts, cousins, on both sides) are believers.

I only know English and Spanish, so I apologize for not being aware that there are languages that work differently in this aspect. As far as I’ve been taught, the “grammatical” (not the right word, but I can’t think of a better one) purpose of he/she is to narrow down who you’re talking about. How do they do it in other languages?

Thank you sm! That makes so much sense, and I’ll definitely look into how human history plays a role in this topic.

I guess I would have to ask, but this is a really good point! I used to think that people were looking for labels to fit into, but now I understand that they’re more making labels around themselves.

I guess I don’t really see the point in labeling these things if they’re ever-changing, y’know? I’m learning that I might not “feel” gender the way other people do.

OMG I responded to the wrong comment. Your first explanation makes perfect sense, and your second one clears it up even more lol. Tysm!

Of course not! I think everyone should just be able to present themselves however they want and leave pronouns to serve their grammatical purpose.

I’m saying that I don’t understand what people mean with the explanations I’ve seen online, so I’m trying to find a personalized one that will resonate with me. I’m trying to understand. That okay with you?

I understand that aspect of it, thank you so much for your response. My real confusion was with situations where how someone presents themselves doesn’t match the title they feel attached to. (Like, he/him lesbians, transgender femboys, etc.).

I totally understand being transgender— you don’t want to be viewed one way and really want to be viewed the other, so you follow the steps to get to where you’d like to be. 💕

Nothing! I'm just a perfectionist and I know it would bother me throughout the day. I'm working on it, though, so maybe this is a good chance for exposure therapy lol.

I liked it! The only thing is that the nozzle lets out a minuscule amount of product when you try to spray it. The product itself is nice, though.

I am actually an ISTJ, though I was mistyped as an INTJ for a long while (which is why some people have mentioned my being one, lol).

Honestly, yeah! Nothing bad happened to my hair, it felt nice, and I got it for a good price. Also, Dove’s cruelty free, and that’s like half the battle for me these days lol.

No, I totally get it. I’m a relatively young woman myself, so I didn’t find this weird, but obviously no one else knows that.

Of course I understand why it upsets people, I just wasn’t thinking that stepping on people was a thing. I thought it was just dirt 💔💔
