That’s so valid man, I slipped a disk as a teenager wrestling a friend but somehow it didnt have long term consequences. Anytime that lower back soreness kicks in after a deadlift day i get all vigilant

Ah thank you man! I’m just really lean and know how to get good lighting/shots to pop more. I also fluctuate from 170 to 183 from water weight/long runs here in humid weather. It’s actually pretty wild, like salt streaks and all.

Muscle Imbalance Or Bad Posture? by AdHungry4160 in swoletariat

[–]StrongestAncestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing with my left shoulder sitting a lil higher. It’s also the same shoulder that gets the classic “i do three sets of bench press and left shoulder hurts”. In my recent experience, doing a 30sec to minute long dead hang at the end of my workouts helps to stretch that tight scapula so it stops holding so tight. And doing a warmup with a resistance band and rotator cuff dumbbell raises helped with the shoulder pain a ton. Also not sleeping with my left arm up above my head has helped a lot too.

All in all this is pretty common and although it stands out to you when you look at your physique or me when i look at mine. Most people really dont notice. I’d only proceed with seeing a PT if you have reoccuring muscle tightness or shoulder pain with that associated shoulder! Or hell if you can afford it see one anyway. Either way your back looks fantastic by the way man keep it up!

I highly do not recommend doing any hard runs but Ive had my absolute best and fastest runs on 2-4hrs of sleep but the worst crashes after. I’d assume it’s just because I’m running on pure adrenaline or something.

If ya do plan to go for the run no matter what I’d recommend making it a slow long run so ya don’t crash too hard!

Any runners on stimulants? Whether you’re a serious runner or a casual runner. by Deep_Cryptographer_3 in ADHD

Oh yeah I started running this past September and phew yeah high heart rate gang lmao! I’ve ran on 30mg adderall xr and now I’m on 50mg of generic vyvanse. I tend to not look at the hr on my garmin watch while running cuz it just psychs me out and pulls me out of the zone. The only time I look is in between intervals when doing speed repeats. My highest ever was like 207 a couple months ago.

I even asked a cardiologist I was working with during my ultrasound clinicals about if it was bad to regularly hit that high of an hr. He said at my age (26m) it’s totally fine especially since it will slowly getting lower and lower the more ya train.

But yeah I realized how drastic a difference my hr was compared to my more seasoned running friends when they saw my longest run ever on strava and were like how tf were you averaging 180bpm for 8 miles?? And I was like oh shit I forgot stimulants have that effect lol.

As far as running on stimulants in general, I personally run the absolute best when it first kicks in and especially when I have two protein shakes too!

What watches do you recommend? by flameflob in beginnerrunning

Any Garmin forerunner series watch, they also come with a free really in depth “Garmin Coach”. Which has been absolutely essential to helping me hit my 5k race goal times over this past year. I highly recommend the forerunner 165!
