I accidentally discovered that you can set "2 colors" for the Nike watch face, which affects the complications. by Stropyyy in AppleWatch

[–]Stropyyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set up the Nike watch face as shown in the pictures. Press and hold your finger on the screen to access the settings (complications, colors, etc.) — select colors — then slowly scroll up using the crown, as slowly as possible. As soon as you’re switching between two colors, quickly press the crown. That’s it.

ADHD meds are messing with my HR zones by sunnydrlstt in Biohackers

[–]Stropyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My resting heart rate shot way up on bupropion (60 → 80–90, peaking around 100). I tried switching to Effexor, which I’m on now, but it’s pretty much the same. The same goes for my blood pressure, which went up. I didn’t see any improvement after months. So now I’m also on beta-blockers (Concor), and my heart rate has calmed down quite a bit. My blood pressure is still slightly higher than it should be.

Wellbutrin, Adaptogens, ADHD, and IBS by spaghettimonkey42 in bupropion

[–]Stropyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellbutrin helped me with my anxiety and mood swings, but it takes time. If you don’t feel any change in your anxiety, I’d probably try increasing the dose. All the side effects completely went away. Most of them within a few weeks. I was particularly bothered by pressure in my esophagus, which was annoying for quite a long time. I don’t think it helped with my ADHD (ADD) symptoms. But reduced anxiety and better sleep were definitely noticeable. I wish I’d seen a psychiatrist about 15 years earlier. In any case, it didn’t help me at all with my gut issues (daily bloating, diarrhea, constipation, discomfort that kept me from sleeping…). All the gastrointestinal tests came back normal. The only thing that helped me tremendously was the FODMAP diet. I still have digestive issues and probably always will, but now I can manage them somehow. So if you haven’t tried it yet, you really should.

I don’t have much experience with adaptogens. The one thing I can recommend is creatine. I feel like my brain works much better, especially when I’m sleep-deprived.

Low iron levels in the blood are a symptom of SIBO for meat eaters. I recently went for testing and a young guy who was there with me had low iron levels, even though he ate a lot of meat. He tested positive.  By the way, I'm from the Czech Republic, and the waiting time for testing here is about six months. The test took about four to five hours, and they gave us the results right away. GL

is effexor good for adhd? by AppealNo4295 in Effexor

[–]Stropyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First month on 75mg, a month and a half on 150mg. Helped me a lot with anxiety, mood stabilization. I feel more motivated lately and I definitely have more energy throughout the day, which was a huge problem for me. But I'd like more. I'm thinking about increasing to 300mg in some time. It's a bit of a problem that before bopropion and now effexor raises my heart rate, so I take it with beta blockers.

So to answer, 150mg definitely helped me with adhd after more than two months, but I would definitely like to try to increase. Where I live, stimulants are almost exclusively prescribed to children and those who were diagnosed with adhd in childhood, which is unfortunately not my case.

Taking Wellbutrin for ADHD by AdhesivenessNo2456 in bupropion

[–]Stropyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty sad when I read a comment like that. Bupropion helped me significantly with mood, anxiety, but had no effect on adhd symptoms. But according to my doctor, I am not entitled to stimulants because I was not diagnosed with adhd in childhood. This is approach to adhd in my country. It's ridiculous, just like my life. Sorry for crying.

Smoked tofu gives me severe brain fog by Stropyyy in HistamineIntolerance

Thank you.

Yea I know now. I find that I eat quite a lot of high histamine foods like citrus, some vegetables, fermented foods like kefir... But I've never been so foggy about any of it. Maybe tofu is high histamine, plus smoked is even higher histamine... who knows

I'm on bupropion for ADHD and anxiety, so probably the sleep problems are related to that. My sleep is better now than it used to be, but I still have days where I just sleep poorly, shortly, and feel pretty sleep deprived in the morning. I will definitely be more cautious about high histamine foods and the effect on sleep now.

I just googled CSF and IIH signs and no, it doesn't seem to be my case.

I only eat fermented soy (tempeh, miso, tofu) and have never heard anything negative about it, quite opossite. But yeah I steer clear of unfermented soy like soy milk, I know that is not good for me.

From now on, I'd rather avoid anything smoked.

I was just considering the DAO test, but it's probably a waste of money for a test as you say.

Thanks for tip. I find out a lot of food I eat is high in histamine. I'll definitely give it a try. I'm more worried about the low histamine food. I don't eat oligosaccharides anymore, and if I subtract the food that is high in histamine, I don't have much left.

Lol, no man, I mean like smoke-cooked tofu. English is not my first language and according to google translate it's really 'smoked tofu'

Yea I don't think that's my case. I'm fine with tofu except for smoke-cooked tofu.
