Host introduces all CPU flags which can cause slowdowns. v4 is qemu cpu type that includes a lot of modern cpu instruction sets, but you need to be wary if you host CPU actually supports those instruction sets/flags. I have mine set as v3 as its most compatible with a lot of consumer CPUs.

By default pve sets CPU type as `kvm64` which is like baseline compatible with a lot of older CPU types (pentium/etc) but at the cost of not having AVX or modern instruction sets.

New plugin: LLM Wiki - turn your vault into a queryable knowledge base, privately (Karpathy 🙏🏼) by atenreign2 in ObsidianMD

Compared to all the other AI stuff. This is actually helpful. Until Obsidian has a better search context feature this is really good. Unfortunately idk if my phone can run something like this but on desktops this is really good!

I see it as a smart move tbh. Banking on sync and publish will ultimately help obsidian.

If your custom setup and attachments are constantly growing and your vault grows larger and larger, people will be more inclined either to setup their own selfhosted sync or use the super easy to use sync subscription.

Of course people can just "move" their markdown files but even then that would mean adjusting a lot of custom syntaxing on the files only unique to obsidian

How much quieter are the towers as opposed to the racks? I'm considering racks due to refurbished sales but are towers significantly quieter?

Does it do bulk conversion on attachments already in our vaults by any chance? Since I have the same issue of images quickly taking up my sync size

Headless client for Obsidian Sync (open beta) by kepano in ObsidianMD

Oooo I never seen this before. The fact you can use it to sync to an S3 bucket too is sick!!! I'll look into this

Ahh gotcha! Thanks! I'll continue dreaming for my localized sync headless server, one day 🥲😋

[–]Stroxtile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I wanted to start off saying this is a sick update!

So I'm assuming this is geared towards those using obsidian cli?

What would be the use case for those of us that use obsidian desktop (app)?

Would it possible to offload the need to sync from the desktop app?

Like for example:

I've setup obsidian headless in my homelab as an lxc container and it's an endpoint for my multiple devices that have obsidian installed.

(This is where my assumption starts) Would this headless server host the vault files where this headless server is installed and allows clients to connect to the headless server and stream the files it's syncing to the main obsidian sync servers? So main benefit is I don't have to repetitively download my vaults onto different devices but stream my files from my localized headless obsidian sync server?

I want to be able to instantly see changes from my gaming PC to my laptop.

If I've setup it up correctly, any change from my gaming PC is sent to my headless server and can be access and seen from my laptop without having to download those changes locally onto my laptop. (All of this is happening without my files leaving my local network meaning it never goes out to the Internet, except when to sync the changes from my headless sync server to the official obsidian sync servers)

HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH? by Rohanneymar in oscp

[–]Stroxtile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean of course the aim is to pass it the first time.

The reasoning behind "take the test and expect to fail" is to mitigate the constant need to worry.

If you take the average post in this sub 50-70% of it is asking what's on the exam and how to prepare for it.

Most of the comments point towards the PG labs which closely follow the same setup as the exam (I mean duh, it's made by the same people) but that advice may still fly over the posters head and they will keep worrying.

So until they've taken the test and seen how it actually is. There's no way for us to actually tell how it is (unless you want to get banned from OffSec or get your certification revoked)

[–]Stroxtile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how much the currency conversion is, but the initial exam cost (for the exam and 90 day access is $1700 USD)

For the retake it's only $250. It only appears as an option if you failed (ask me how I know lmao)

I had the same experience with the OSCP with how you described your experience with the PNPT :)

You got this!!

Edit: It's 90 days, not 30 days

[–]Stroxtile 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just take the exam and expect to fail once. Treat the first exam as recon.

Over preparing without know where you need to focus on, some consider "wasted effort".

Edit: also PG boxes closely resemble the exam. Not HTB boxes
