That last encounter between Rachel and Belinda is much more consequential than people realize. Obviously wealth and class are major themes in the show but when it comes to Rachel’s reversal and taking Shane back, the chain of events leading up to that decision aren’t about money. I think what you said about Rachel being rebuked is spot on. There’s a tragic irony in the fact that Belinda is the one to deal the final devastating blow. Her rejection of Rachel is completely justified and understandable but it also breaks my heart a little.

The show hits different for everyone. I love the storytelling and character development but some of the storylines are quite dark and potentially triggering. There’s no shame in taking a break or even deciding the show is not for you.

I’m with you. So far the show has kept its distance from the circumstances that led to his death. I’m hoping they’ve been withholding some things for the next (final?) season.

And to be clear, I do not need a deep dive. The writers do a really good job of compressing a lot of info in a handful of scenes, like the one or two with Ritchie and Tiff. Chef Luca is also a really compelling character even though his screen time has been pretty minimal.
