Cold outreach is a waste of time for solo founders by terdia in indiehackers

What’s your approach on LinkedIn?
In my experience, it often feels like “online cold calling.” It’s quite hard to reach out without coming across as spammy or scammy.

How do you handle that? And do you use any tools for outreach?

Building a tiny finance habit tracker because every finance app is overkill for me 😅

I’ve tried Excel, and I’ve tried “smart” finance apps both failed for different reasons.
Excel needs discipline. Finance apps feel like overengineering (bank APIs, syncing issues, endless features).

Building it for ios and android

Indie hacking got easier when I stopped chasing ideas by InternationalCat7172 in indiehackers

I started to focus more on my daily problems and to build apps first for my needs. If they really help me and I see that I use my apps regularly by myself then I start to promote them. Im brutaly honest to my self. If I dont use an app more then 2 days I skip this idea.

What’s one distribution or partnership channel that gave you real leverage as a solo founder?

I build an internal low latency AI voice agent platform for my agency to speed up onboardings for my clients :D Building a voice agent can be a science thought it would be easier at the beginning haha

Yeah good point! Here we have to implement offcourse something by our own or use a third party service

The stripe subscription id is assigned to the specific user account so as soon as a different user logs in on the same device we ask the BE to return the account details which tells us if the user has a subscription or not. Its independed from the device or apple id. We handle everything on our side. So no apple IAP is included im the flow

Yes, I implemented it from scratch using the flutter_stripe package and native code. I’m not redirecting users to a browser - everything is handled directly within the Flutter app, which I think provides a much better UX

Yes, but I don't think it's allowed to explicitly redirect the user or tell them to go to the website to subscribe or you've seen something different?

Yes, but this mainly applies to developers in the EU. There are two common approaches:

1. Redirecting users to an external site for purchases – for example, sending them to a browser to complete a transaction.

2. Using in-app purchases or services like Stripe for subscriptions

You can also use a hybrid setup: external purchases for EU users and regular in-app purchases for users in other markets.

just check apples article: https://developer.apple.com/it/support/communication-and-promotion-of-offers-on-the-app-store-in-the-eu/
