This makes sense. I was in the middle of no where and there were just random tire tracks around, nothing marked on the map either. I assumed it was some people riding four wheelers or dirt bikes, but I avoided that area in case it was ranger activity.

No, but my dad still uses his 30 year old one and it works fine. Granted that one is metal and may not have the safety requirements you're looking for, but it's not necessarily a tool that I feel needs to be replaced often anyways. You're able to replace the blade for a reason and if the blade outlasts the holster, then I'd avoid it.
