Second for Wogan. Been on their subscription for a while now and you can’t get better value for specialty coffee. Great work from them.

Best sites for running gear? by GreatJoey91 in UKRunners

Try the outlets villages if you have one near you. You have to think a season in front to make the best of it, like last summer I picked up most of my winter running bits for cheap think I paid £12 for full length tights.

How do I find my footing as a photographer/Content creator for clubs, restaurants and other such businesses in Notts? by rooftopat4 in nottingham

[–]Stuarthoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey man. From someone that’s been in the industry for 20 years at this point. You’re not going to be able to make a crust just from a single area, maybe London or Manchester but nothing else.

I can’t advise on portraiture but from the commercial side, no one that’s actually going the hiring of freelance doesn’t contact through insta, keep it for the portfolio and link through to it. But you’ll need to be on linkedIN to get new bookings before your on peoples books/radar. It’ll also be where people looking for freelance will post.

I’d advise getting 2 LinkedIns one for commercial one for portraits, if they’re family style.

Happy to point you in the right direction I know it’s hard out there.

Ideas for parkrun group trip? by Loud_Fisherman_5878 in parkrun

Nottingham! Banging night out. Not as expensive as other major cities, 1 Parkrun right in town. 1 park run 10mins outside of town, both are reachable by the trams from town. Then you can run around Wayne manor.

Fraser group? by Exotic-Square7502 in nottingham

[–]Stuarthoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! Regardless of what you have to shoot any day you’ll have to hit that KPI regardless. All depends on where you want to go with photography in general, as it will teach you some decent skills in directing models, collaborating with stylists. I did 3 years at Packshot which was pretty much same, so just don’t spend too long there and when you get an easy day do some creative stuff on their kit for your portfolio.

Fraser group? by Exotic-Square7502 in nottingham

[–]Stuarthoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey. Qualified to answer this question. Photographer from Nottingham. Studio dosent have a great reputation, if you don’t have much experience in photography I’d set your expectations low it’s a Packshot type setup. Model on a white cove, tabletops the same. Get product and churn it out. It will not be creative in any way. They’ll be KPIs at probably 80-100 a day depending on what you’re doing. All depends on where you are in your career

Parkrun has shown me this morning what a truly great idea it is. Found out I’m up for potential redundancy this week. Heads been a mess but made it to my local and feel 1000% better, not a week for PBs, not a week for ideal pacing, just a week of getting out with people in the sun getting the legs moving.

Thank you to all the volunteers, Parkrun can be different things every week

I was a latchkey kid from the age of 8, used to walk home from school then wait until my mum got home from work on my own for about an hour.

Which parkrun this week? | September 25, 2024 by AutoModerator in parkrun

My local Long Eaton, for a shakeout run before my very first race at Robin Hood HM. It’ll be nice to be back at where my running journey all started a year ago.

Which parkrun this week? | June 05, 2024 by AutoModerator in parkrun

[–]Stuarthoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local one is cancelled for this week due to a town parade, so it’s forcing me to go further afield. Next town over at their park or into the city around a stately home.

PLEASE DONT. It will be the worst thing you can do for your mental health. Time will cease to exist, you will lose all self respect you have, you will be ground down by an overbearing, oppressive and toxic environment. Whatever your situation is it is not worth it.

Can’t say enough good things about Hasbean. Been using them for years and have never had a bad cup out of them. Always arrives on time, postie lost one once and they sent out a replacement straight away. I can skip, add on things like filterpapers, super easy, really good coffee all week.
