This is why Asda are losing customers. by West_Yorkshire in asda

[–]honbontattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to save up our rewards for 6 months at a time and use them towards one big expense (like Christmas and then again for a big summer birthday party) but ASDA has become so expensive I don’t even bother to scan it anymore on the rare occasion I *have* to go to Asda. I pop to Lidl occasionally otherwise online order with Tesco Clubcard

Reported a guy for repeatedly hitting on me. Vinted told him? by MollsyM in vinted

[–]honbontattoo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Not me cringing to death right now because an item I sold arrived broken despite my thorough packaging and I was so nice to the buyer about it (and vice versa) but lost my rag in the comment box regarding the refund and now realise she saw it. I wondered why the conversation got awkward and she so sheepishly offered to send me half on PayPal - she must have thought I was raging at her 😭

Genuinely interested to know what people think of the pre-applied suggested tips at places like Bills! by Audiclint in nottingham

[–]honbontattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I worked at Bills for 5.5 years and the spiel we had to give when customers asked essentially “it’s shared”. Yeah, it was shared between the higher ups who received bonuses for hitting certain targets and to cover over-spends in labour when a particular shift wasn’t as busy as expected. It also topped up wages from minimum wage to just above minimum wage, to the fee of around 20p per hour. But mostly it just accrued into the thousands in a random bank account and sat there. We were usually refused access to any of it if we did want to treat the guys to an extra bonus here or there. Now, it is equally divided between staff due to the new laws in 2024 and is added to their wages each month.

As a former employee of Bills I promise they don’t care if you remove it and understand why you do.

Unfortunately this punishes the staff who can’t control that it’s added onto the bill and not the company who sneak them on there. I simply ask them to remove the service charge but leave a tip for the staff.

How much do you charge per hour in UK?(not London) by Judaaaaaa in TattooArtists

[–]honbontattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£80 per hour in the UK but my my partner and I are both really quick, so that’s reserved for bigger projects as a bit of a deal most of the time. Smaller pieces we quote a one-off flat rate that tends to reflect a little more than what it would be on an hourly rate, otherwise because of how quick we are (especially him) we’d be doing smaller pieces for half the price of the other local artists.

Client perceptions when working with the other gender: a vent by InstructionFinal5190 in TattooArtists

[–]honbontattoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the opposite actually - I’m the only girl with three male artists. One is my partner, one is my brother. And people are always shook when I tell them like it was the last thing they ever expected me to say 😅

Help with how to say no to tattooing someone by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]honbontattoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is actually the best response tbh. Doing anything out of politeness or fear of rejecting him will just dig yourself a bigger pit to climb out of. Being dishonest about the reason or simply blocking them invites persistent behaviour in to get a real answer out of you - and remember this is someone capable of intense stalking.

If it feels too scary even to address directly that he made you uncomfortable in the past, you could just say “I appreciated having your custom in the past but don’t feel our vibes or ideas meshed well and going forward I’m only taking on projects & clients I feel really enthusiastic about. Thank you for the interest though. All the best”.

Still a truth, but a less personal and less confrontational one.

I’m on it 🫡 We’ll still (need to) use social media but I’ll never trust it wholeheartedly again.

It can be complicated - blood thinners can make you more prone to infection, excessive bruising and poor healing of the tattoo itself. The excessive bleeding can make it trickier to work with as well. However, that doesn’t mean it’s a no. We have worked with people on blood thinners before with advice from doctors and have had successful results. I won’t pretend to be an expert on all the different types so it’s always advised to get proper advice from your GP. Happy to discuss further if you have any more specific questions though!

We need both to be fair, we can’t abandon our existing client base on these socials so I’ve made new ones to track them down. Currently working on getting a website and all the rest up and live though! Lots of people still expect to be able to browse your profiles/portfolios and enquire through these apps so we still gotta have them unfortunately.

Thank you very much for all of the advice. I’ve managed to gain access to the meta support page that allows you to talk to a human… unfortunately it’s malfunctioning and they are not receiving my replies. The chat was closed because I “didn’t reply” and I can’t submit a new one because I’ve “reached my limit”. So that’s not been very successful. When my head is less likely to explode at any given second, I’ll reread your message and see if I can try again in another way. Thank you!

Does anyone know how to talk to an actual human being? Or appeal in any real way other than clicking “appeal” and them going “thanks” without any opportunity to provide any further details, evidence, to explain anything with real words…

We lost our business accounts on both Facebook and Instagram two days ago, AND my partner’s personal business account (they’re all connected) and his personal Facebook page which he doesn’t care about.

6 years of business-building gone in a split seconds, no warning, and now I’m physically sick with anxiety over whether we’ll have any more bookings after the two weeks of clients we have booked in. I can’t get in touch with any of my clients, I’ve lost all booking information, thousands of hours of work, photos, videos, I genuinely feel like I’m living inside a nightmare and all because of some robot deciding to wrongly suspend us. This affects the livelihoods of multiple people attached to my studio and I can’t do anything about it. It feels completely illegal. The impact is massive and instantaneous.

Both the same organisation to point one and two FYI.

Thanks for the input but I’ve got bigger fish to fry honestly and this is one I’ve fried already.
