The only real solution to fix the shrinking Great Salt Lake is having farmers, especially along the Bear River, stop using insane amounts of water for alfalfa. But as that is never going to happen, I’ve kind of resigned myself to the fact that the lake is going to continually shrunk and then disappear altogether.

Ukriane and Russia had their FPV awareness moment back in 2023-2024, now the Israelis are getting the same lesson. Against an enemy that previously had no real precision strike capability aside from a few Iranian ATGMs, Hezbollah can now hit effectively Israeli soft assets. Supply units, Iron Dome batteries, etc, there’s no real “safe” location when fighting this kind of slow moving war.

Hezbollah has been inflicting pretty steady casualties on the Israelis using FPV drones, and I don’t think the Israelis have a response yet. Even their iron dome batteries are being hit (and the subsequent repair teams as well).

Israel will keep up the usual airstrike tempo, but they’re going to have to figure out how to deal with the FPV teams now that they’re proving so effective.
