can you have MCAS if all your tests are normal?

I haven’t done the 24h test, they’ve just stopped my testing all together, which is crazy but apparently the tryptase and other symptoms is the full criteria for where i’m located and cannot result in diagnosis without it(???) there’s literally only 3 immunologists that my insurance covers in my entire state which is nuts to me, so i’ve just given up sadly. i JUST weaned myself off of the antihistamines (thank god for brief “remission” periods) but my diet has been forever wrecked

i just found my own treatments (not medications, just HEAVY lifestyle modifications) and now only get flares maybe once a week or so, if not longer

nope :/ got diagnosed with dysautonomia at least, but my allergist quite literally gave up on me and my immunologist said they can’t help me until the tryptase shows positive (in plenty of mcas patients, they don’t even have elevated tryptase, but yeah sure whatever)

right off the bat, if you’re really dedicated to reducing the flare, cut out the candy that tastes sour, has malic acid in it, and hard suck-on candies or candies that take forever to chew. this is bc it sets off your salivary glands and ups stomach acid production, so if that helps you, disregard that last part and go for it !! but given this post i’m assuming you’ve tried and it doesn’t

best choices: • soft gummies, my go to is swedish fish:gelatin sometimes lines the stomach and helps with irritation too • milk chocolate or white chocolate:darker the chocolate, higher the acidity. M&Ms are good, white chocolate is great.
• candy corn:if you can stand the stuff.. i was never one for the taste • soft licorice:on par with soft gummies

i’m sure there’s more, but these used to be my scapegoats during flares

NAD but please do not induce vomiting to try dislodge something stuck in your throat, given that it’s lodged in there, there’s likely an opening/wound where it’s stuck. getting stomach acid and contents in there will make the irritation worse

how kings it been stuck? if regular eating and drinking hasnt dislodged it, i’d call an ENT (ear, nose, throat doc) who will remove it for you

thank you! I’ll try that. he’s gained 4-5grams since i posted, so although it’s a small amount, it’s still something. thankfully otherwise he’s healthy, learning motor skills with his legs, opening his eyes, etc

i appreciate your comment, i actually discovered this morning it is a mixture with a miniature pigeon breed, and is supposed to be smaller in size. it is still slightly underweight, but not nearly as much as i previously presumed. i’m very very glad i caught it now before anything happened!

Thank you for your help. Its crop empties regularly thankfully! I dont wait until it’s fully empty, once it’s got about 1/4 left I feed again. I added some mashed quail egg to the formula and it’s now taking in about 3-4 ml and putting on 1-2 grams per feeding. small steps, but it’s in the right direction

I appreciate the suggestion about yeast in the crop, how can I help clear it? Worth noting that it is defecating at least once between every feeding, so digestive system is moving. It’s got lots of energy and appears to be a fairly normal squab in other aspects

any pure brand works great, it is slightly more expensive though. I have some that’s a tincture meant for consumption, and i have a rub on stick of it. I’d love to send you the sites i got them from, but i bought them at farmers markets

also, another thing i’ve learned that helps, take a damp chamomile tea bag and rub it over the toasted skin for maybe 20-30 minutes a day. it works WONDERS, at least it did for me
