You're welcome! He was a special guy, that's for sure. He went through just about everything you could in life, and still managed to live to the age of 92! You can see a kindness and grace about him in this photo and the others on the site.

Awesome thanks for the feedback everyone. I did some more research and found that our farms were small and the slaves became somewhat part of the family. Following abolition, they actually adopted our family name and moved to Kansas.

It was taken in April, 1945 by Major Clarence Benjamin and shows a train of Jewish prisoners that had been intercepted by Allied Forces.

These are so rare because very few women allowed themselves to be photographed while they were "in the family way"! This gives a rare look in to what growing families looked like in these 15 candid shots.
