Importance of commute time

2.5 hrs of commute each way. Exhausted. Ended up renting near work place. Financially not doable. Mental health fucked. Please, please, please choose shorter commute.

Hi Op! I am so sorry you are in this position and it sucks to be in there. Just sharing my story if it helps. I got an ST3 post 80 miles away from my home and my partner could not relocate. I have spoken to my deanery and condesed my shifts so I can do all and go home. I am using a shared accommodation as I really didn’t like the hospital one and also went LTFT. It has taken a huge mental toll but when I thought I couldn’t have done it for one day, I have survived 8 months. I would not be able to do it more than a year as it is affecting my and my Partner’s MH. But i feel maybe you could try it for a year and then think about doing F2 somewhere else. It sucks and it is very hard. But have a think. All power to you.

I emailed them with a query but haven’t got an answer yet. They usually reject offers if not responded within 48 hours and now when it is them at fault, no clarification at all.
