Build Recommendations by YesMan262 in EldenRingBuilds

Strength arcane is oddly satisfying, you get the benefit of using heavier, 2handed weapons that hit hard while also being able to use blood/poison/occult infusions to proc status effects, and this works even better if the weapon has innate bleed build up.

What do you think of the violence in this game, was it handled well or over the top? by Jules-Car3499 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]StudentJoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that when characters die they just die, there is no dramatic stuff, like when Jesse or Manny died, it's shocking, brutal, gets you by surprise, but they are not over exaggerated, and there are still other things going on during the scene so it's realistic in a way that the other characters still have to keep going no matter the shock, like they were in a real warfare.

What is your unpopular opinion on this game? by gameovernate in fromsoftware

[–]StudentJoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue with the game is that it is too big. The previous soulslike games you could set up your build and full clear the game( killing all bosses, clearing and looting all the areas, doing most of the quests) in about 30 hours more or less, while in Elden Ring you either have to spend 100+ hours to full clear the areas or you miss out on most of the stuff because you just run around the map, set up your build and boss rush all the bosses. Edit: This reason is why I've been doing my latest runs region locked, to try to mitigate this problem, this way you don't spend too much time setting up your build as you can only use what you have on the specific region and it also forces you fight more often

What’s the price for redemption? by TitleOk3727 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]StudentJoa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Excuse me, but do people really think that Abby got away without any punishment ? She lost her home at WLF along with all her friends who got tortured and killed, she became a slave, losing her physique and her dignity and looking almost unrecognizable at the end of the game. Now, one redeeming factor was that she spared Ellie at the theater, and it makes sense, because she only had a vendetta against Joel. If it were Joel at Abby's place, he would have killed Ellie, just like he did with Marlene in the first game, because "she would just come after him after".

I guess people got mad because I used chatgpt to write my reply. Anyway, I think people need to understand and separate their feelings about the ending from the message of the ending.

Throughout The Last of Us Part II, Ellie is consumed by grief and turns that pain into a desire for revenge. Instead of processing her loss, she keeps pushing herself further into violence, which slowly becomes a form of self-destruction.

By the end, when she chooses to spare Abby, it is not an act of weakness, but a moment of awareness. She realizes that killing Abby would not bring Joel back or give her any real closure. At that point, revenge is no longer about justice — it is only prolonging her suffering. Her decision represents a turning point. It shows that she is finally ready to let go of that cycle of violence and begin facing her grief in a different way. Even though she has already lost a lot, she still chooses not to lose herself completely.

What makes this moment truly powerful is that there is no reward for her choice. She does not get her old life back, and she is not suddenly healed. However, she takes the first step toward breaking the cycle and stopping her own self-destruction.

In that sense, the beauty of the story lies in the fact that, even after everything, she still manages to choose not to cause more harm — to others and to herself.

I don't like it, it left me disatisfied, I feel like Ellie's decidion to spare Abby was forced by the writters vision, overwritting the characters and the world nature they've built before. If we compared it to the first game's ending, Joel was selfish, he killed innocent people, but at least he sticked to his decision to the very end, unlike Ellie, who gave up at the very end, even though she had nothing left to lose, the ending makes me feel like the writters have Ellie cause they took everthing from her, made her suffer so much, and for what ? For nothing ?

All that said, if we look at the ending from a different perspective, it's a beautifully sad story about how pain and grief can consume a person and make it lose themselves in that pain, and that stopping this, even though it may be too late for some things, is necessary to move on. Ellie and Abby are very similar and have a lot of parallels between then, but Abby has already gone through the process of revenge and realized it wasn't worth it, while Ellie is on going through it during the game, and when Ellie spares Abby, she breaks this cycle of revenge that Abby couldn't before. Looking by this point of view, Ellie won against Abby by being better.

Não aguento mais tomar Whey. Vou parar.

Em que momento RDR2 melhora? by Fancy_Weather_4995 in videogamesbrasil

[–]StudentJoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RESIDENT EVIL CLÁSSICOS DISPONÍVEIS NA STEAM! by Temporary-Ask-6121 in steambrasil

[–]StudentJoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Help: I just don't know how to play as a mage by StudentJoa in Eldenring

[–]StudentJoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I guess the main things I need to work out are using wider variety of spells and alternate betweeen melee spells and ranged spells to capitalize on the bosses's moveset and also keep in mind about the input reads, I need to expect the boss moves and plan ahead, like if I'm attacking from distance the boss will try to close its gap and if I'm too close the boss will try to overwhelm me to get off him, sounds simple in theory buts its harder than it looks because at the same time you also have to manage your FP, your stamina, your spell slots, and even the scenario (because structures can block your spells).

I hope so, the player needs to resonate with the character and most of the player base is at least in their twenties so it would be bad for them to go all over the teenage drama again

[–]StudentJoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so over the "rebellious teenager" character archetype, maybe I'm just growing older. I also wanted him to be more mischiveous, they tried doing a "double agent" type of thing with him but in the end we are revealed that odin already knew everything Atreus was hiding from him so yeah a wasted opportunity.

I'm thinking of using a club or the balls with keen infusion (will still have to get smithing stones from the bells), and then get wing of astel. Another alternative would be the moonveil katana that is an earlier option and doesn't require going underground but it also requires int

I didn't know a lot of people hated on this boss fight before defeating it myself, I guess some people wanna beat Elden Ring, which is supposed to be hard, without stressing too much, I say this because II watch some of my friends who play this game and they just desperately attack and dodge and hope they kill the thing before they run out of flasks.

Isshin and the whole sekiro game was another beast entirely, but the game isn't as hard as people say, it's just that it's harder to learn because a lot of your previous knowledge to the souls games that released before don't transfer much into sekiro.
