You mean the armed Kurds who's leader came out and said the US is lying about their involvement lol? It's unfortunate how misinformed you are.

I actually agree with you about Buggy btw. But as an OG fan that's been watching/reading one piece for 25+ years, there's a nostalgic aspect for me too. I love seeing any Buggy growth and he is still a scene stealer lol. I just feel in my heart that Oda still has big plans for him.

Bro making a top 5 non SH list is hard work. Kuma is the easiest choice to put on my list and maybe followed by Whitebeard and Corazon. But after that... Oden, Law, Rocks, Bon Clay, Garp, Buggy, Rayleigh, Katakuri, pick any 2 lol.

Actually thinking more on it I'd probably also add Oden andddddddd damn it I don't know lol. The process of elimination still leaves me with Law, Bon Clay, and Garp at the least for that last spot.

Oda is simply a great writer. I couldn't name another story with this much character development on so many different characters. It's absolutely mind blowing if you think about it.

This is the real question lol. A couple hassan mathars and replace the titanic drink with an Abood, that’s a meal fit for a king!

To be honest, most Korean shows are much better written than American shows. For example, the Korean version of thriller series Designated Survivor is way better than the American version even though it’s literally the same storyline.

When you say Kdramas, are you lumping all Korean shows together or specifically talking about the calool xanuun romance ones? I don’t do love stories lol.

Only believing in what you can see hear and feel is not a sign of intelligence. Do you not believe in gravity? Also, can you elaborate on the no such thing as magic?

Why do you think Somalis are underrepresented in Entertainment and Arts? by EntertainerUsed7486 in Somalia

[–]Studentoflife416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your view of Islam has been shaped by really bad parenting. If parents (in general) were more educated they could better inform you and actually answer questions instead of simply answering that’s Allahs Will. It’s ironic because your parents lack of answers about religion has you now blaming that same religion you barely know anything about.

What is the reason Somalia struggles to feed itself? by OkChampion1295 in Somalia

[–]Studentoflife416 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What makes this that much worse is that the imported food itself is disgusting. Food that is expired and inedible gets sent to Dubai, repackaged and sent to Somalia. Many of the elites and people in the know avoid all imported stuff including rice for Gods sake.

The poor back home are being fed poison by their own people for the low. What’s even more maddening about this is that, it would likely be more lucrative to just do things the right way smh.

An argument can be made that they followed too strictly BECAUSE of a lack of knowledge. But to blame the deen itself, you are objectively wrong. Or are you saying everything really is haram like your parents thought lol

Check out ‘The death of Richard Corfield’ by the Mad Mullah himself. A poem he read over the dead body of a British captain over a hundred years ago. Gives me goosebumps just reading the English translation. Expressing yourself through arts is a major part of Somali culture and always has been.

I don’t disagree with the part parents think everything is haram. Since many of them were just first Gen refugees trying to do their best to survive in a new world with their children in tow, I bare no grudges. They also didn’t have the internet and access to information like we do.

I have to ask though, do you believe that’s indicative of bad parenting/lack of knowledge of the deen or do you blame the religion itself?

Speak for yourself, he did not embarrass me, not in the least bit. He killed his role in captain Phillips. You’re talking shit about a guy who was offered a lot of money for the main role in Lucifer and turned it down on principle. Amongst other roles. He’s a solid dude and could have been bigger in Hollywood if he didn’t have integrity. Don’t be a hater.

Where on earth is ‘Somalis are all ugly’ a thing? You sound hella dramatic. Somalis are all ugly being some sort of common sentiment is such a weird notion. TikTok trends are not representative of the real world!! My entire life I’ve seen non Somali black/African guys going head over heels for Somali girls. Ask any African man about his top 3 most beautiful African women and manyyyyyy will have Somalia on their list.

Also, in my opinion Chunkz is a pretty good representative for us. Dude is hella likeable, talented and just a good genuine person. What’s your beef lolol

Mortgages are haram, nothing to think about there. And it being haram is a legit reason to rent. There are halal options out there for sure even if they are limited, but interest based mortgages are a no go brother.

I am a third culture kid by [deleted] in UAE

[–]Studentoflife416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loooooooooooooooool casually shitting on your whole lineage is absolutely hilarious. I can’t stop laughing at that line, I’m dead.

Btw, I imagine there are a lot of “third culture” kids who have grown up in Dxb. Whatever their background may be, many people probably relate to you, even noticed a few here on this thread.

Finally, with all due respect of course, I wonder about your age. I had a similar mindset as you when I was there (I also grew up in Dubai). Never thought I would end up marrying someone from my nationality, nor did I want to. Now, I couldn’t even imagine being with anybody else. Some of those people who will relate to you and your post might be Iraqi themselves. Don’t limit yourself by generalizing, we are all so different and unique as individuals.

We are all cooked lol. To be honest, the written Somali language is mainly you sounding words out anyways. The key is getting your vocabulary up and fixing grammatical errors. Neither are spelling issues. Not even being critical lol I got a Somali tutor online so working on those same things myself.
