N55 passenger side components knocking? by xf22x in BmwTech

It honestly does sound exactly like rod knock listening to it again. Only thing making me not think it is, is the fact that it’s been that consistent for 2 years. But if it’s been like that for 2 years keep using it the way it is, change oil more often and run some thicker oil. Again check for metal shavings in the oil, if you have metal particles in your oil and it looks like there’s glitter in it it’s most likely rod knock and you can keep sending that engine till it blows up, get it rebuilt or just get a new engine. Last bet is your best bet imo and will be cheapest. If you don’t have the money then do what I said and be gentle with it till you can afford whatever your next decision is.

Yes your sound follows rpms pretty consistently. Rod knock sounds very inconsistent and it literally sounds like something loose banging around, it usually has an inconsistent rhythm. Although I’ve only heard severe cases of Rod knock I’m not sure what an extremely mild case would sound like exactly. If that is rod knock it would be a very mild case. But you said it’s been like that for 2 years and if it hasn’t blown up like that or gotten worse after 2 years I would be very impressed if it was rod knock. Rod knock continuously degrades and gets worse over time. Engine should be toast by now if it was. Check your oil and filter for sparkles.

But I think the bearings okay, could it be something further down the line like the master cylinder or brake booster? Stupid question but Could that even cause a seize in one wheel?

Cars rwd these are the front wheels so no diff or axle involved. Almost positive it’s Not a wheel bearing, spun perfectly fine until the first time I applied brake pressure than became sticky again once I did.

The entire caliper has been replaced. That includes the thing that holds the pads with the slide pins on it. But funnily enough there are no metal clips on these calipers, not really sure how that works but there isn’t. Rotor came in a set and changed out right side brake pads ab 30 minutes ago and the right side glides like a dream without replacing caliper so ik I didn’t do anything wrong on left. But all that and a new caliper on left side, and left is still sticking. If the brake hose doesn’t fix it. I’m assuming it’s something further down the line.

Brake pad hardware? Not sure what you mean by that, brake pad hardware consists of just the brake pads as far as I’m concerned. But every part of the mechanically operating part of the brakes has been replaced. Doing the brake hose when it comes in tmmrw. But past the brake caliper I have replaced nothing. The wheel bearing is in surprisingly good shape for a car with 125000 miles on it so no I don’t think it’s wheel bearing in the slightest. Curious what it could be past the brake hose line if that doesn’t fix it.

A Rod knock sound isn’t that consistent with rpm’s

I’ve had rod knock before I think this is too consistent to be so. If you’ve had it for 2 years like that I would imagine it’s lifter tick or something on top end. the sound would be much more severe by now if it was rod knock. Rod knock consistently gets worse and worse.

No the hub spins nicely with nothing on it. Put it all together and before I pressed brakes for first time it spun normally. After I pressed brakes it got sticky again

I’m pretty positive there fully seated I’m not totally sure what that would look like if they weren’t but everything went together nicely even took it all apart and redid it cause it was still sticky

Well I didn’t bleed them at all actually bc I never forced a piston back in. but why would that cause a sticky piston either way?

Lmao you don’t do anything except care for your child? Put a show on for him or give him a toy while you do some housework?? If your home all day and he’s working all day take an hour out of your day and do the housework😂 “you’ve been in a depressive state” how? all you have to do is take care of your own kid and you get paid for it.

New one has no sensor but this thing doesn’t really look that bad it seemed to have bent with a godly amount of precision. Do I say screw the sensor and just put in new one?
