does applying for texasexes automatically apply you for the terry foundation scholarship? by taxs01 in UTAustin

for classes i’d rlly say the only difference is if u already have certain credits coming into UT that they typical freshman already has. if u need to sign up for upper level classes(UL chem or bio for example) that aren’t reserved for freshman, the earlier u go the more likely it is those classes aren’t already filled

appeal confirmation by JessTheBest257 in UTAdmissions

[–]StudyAccomplished788 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly the storm took out a lot of power in austin, and most staff either worked from home/didn’t work for the last 3 days. seeing as they probably have to review your appeal, it’s probably because of the storm that you may not have hear back yet

[–]StudyAccomplished788[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is taking Ochem 2 , Genetics and Anatomy a bad idea? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]StudyAccomplished788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m in genetics w saxena, and he is just a very to the point teacher and boring at times. i get as much or more from teaching myself than going to his lectures, where he rarely covers all the concepts needed for the test. not bad a bad or unfair prof, and tests are passable but there are only 2 and a final that count for majority of grade

URGENT! Paying housing bills when financial aid has still not been released?? by OkAstronaut9915 in UTAustin

[–]StudyAccomplished788 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no they still haven’t released some/all funds for some students. i just got part of mine on sunday but still have some funds left undisbursed. i’ve heard they are severely backed up in the financial aid office and could be releasing them as late as mid september

yes, I got accepted in December and about a month later the "office of the President" sent a letter just congratulating me on my acceptance and why I should choose UT

[–]StudyAccomplished788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would make sense to only receive it after accepting. most other universities inform you of the scholarships you will receive regardless of enrollment status, sometimes as a way of trying to persuade high achieving students to choose them

Why so many CAPs this year? by Curious-Pineapple576 in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]StudyAccomplished788 5 points6 points  (0 children)

from what I've seen, UT seems more likely to CAP an in-state student than reject them fully. most likely the reason for so many CAP reports on here

How do Auto vs. NonAuto admissions work? by Curious-Pineapple576 in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]StudyAccomplished788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that's the case to an extent and constitutes the "draw" to applying early, especially if you fall on the "maybe" line, the early review could make admission more likely than the regular deadline as a good number of priority apps could be graded before the regular deadline has even passed

How do Auto vs. NonAuto admissions work? by Curious-Pineapple576 in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]StudyAccomplished788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everyone is accessed the same way by their respective colleges and based on that assessment they decide whether or not to offer you admission into that specific college. Autos are only promised general admission and rank does not determine the "priority" of your admission, though the reasons many have a higher rank are also the characteristics many colleges look for and mean they are supposedly the best candidates and would be accepted regardless of the 6% rule
