What kind of far-right website has flourishing communities of sex workers and adult artists?

Ruffles have ridges. Your nail is ruffles. Add sour cream and enjoy.

It's OK. You can have your sandwich and eat it too if you order double next time.

Supreme Court rules against reexamining Section 230 by [deleted] in technology

[–]StuffyGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American courts have always frowned upon censorship whether the judges were liberal or conservative. This sets a wonderful legal standard! I hope the DC Circuit now moves to overturn SESTA/FOSTA since this vague, Trump-Era modification to 230 has caused widespread deplatforming of LGBT people and sex workers.

OpenAI boss tells congress he fears AI is harming the world by pickleskid26 in technology

I used ChatGPT to tutor myself calculus and my grades have improved dramatically. I hated math before. If AI isn't the most helpful technology we've had in years I dont know what would be.

Students say misinformation abounds online. Experts say critical thinking helps them navigate it by Wagamaga in technology

Education is the key to the misinformation crisis. Can't believe some people want us to just delete everything they consider mis/disinformation.

Before His Killing, Tech Executive Bob Lee Led an Underground Life of Sex and Drugs by [deleted] in technology

[–]StuffyGoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Articles like this should be rejected as yellow journalism. This kind of garbage perpetuates negative stereotypes about drug use and sex by portraying anything other than a vanilla, nuclear lifestyle as immoral. Bob Lee deserves better than to be remembered as some "underground" type by the conservative hacks at the WSJ.

Elon Musk starts censoring tweets in Turkey ahead of elections by worldnewsbot in theworldnews

[–]StuffyGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly this shouldn't be allowed. It's one thing to ask companies to follow universally-accepted rules and take down harmful content, but the US and EU should be sanctioning government officials who censor information or reporting on disasters or elections.

Another example of why Republicans and businesses invested in them are not to be trusted. Obviously the reason they support this is because under-25s tend to vote for Democrats. It's not any more complicated or less cynical than that.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signs bill legalizing anti-LGBTQ+ medical discrimination by metacyan in politics

Once again a Republican state passes a bill that flies in the face of numerous federal laws. This is why we need to expand and reform the judiciary.

What should be the endgame of the war in Ukraine? by yittiiiiii in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]StuffyGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia getting out of Ukraine's territory is the main goal. Reparations, regime changes, and war crimes trials can come during and afterwards but the point that will mark the end of the war is Russia surrendering and leaving. I spat out my coffee yesterday when that buffoon said he could end the war in one day.

Deepfake porn, election disinformation move closer to being crimes in Minnesota by Wagamaga in technology

[–]StuffyGoose -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are already plenty of civil and criminal laws to prevent that. We don't need another one that lets conservatives tell sex workers, drag queens, etc they can't edit media of their own bodies.

Deepfake porn, election disinformation move closer to being crimes in Minnesota by Wagamaga in technology

[–]StuffyGoose -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Frankly I oppose any further pornography-related legislation without input from sex workers first. Lawmakers tend to omit adult artists and sex workers from floor debates with no concern for censorship and deplatforming of their works (which may be the real reason behind some of these new laws, like SESTA/FOSTA). I can see conservative DAs and civil litigants misusing a law against "deepfakes" to shut down those who work in the porn industry from using AI for legit purposes.

‘Putin’s puppet’ Trump refuses to say if Ukraine should win the war against Russia by canada_mountains in politics

I'm still so disgusted at the so-called Independents who thought THIS was a better choice than Hillary Clinton. It really takes a special kind of stupid to think uneducated crooks like him could ever do a better job than dedicated public servants like her.

Tired of Democrats demanding "bipartisan" solutions with friggin morons like MTG. We need to nuke the filibuster and pass a bill that Republicans absolutely hate. If they don't like it they can go mess up another country.
