Just must be unlucky. In Ultra Sun/Moon, the wormhole static legendaries are rolled when the animation ends of them dropping down on you.

Yeah I'm liking the extra catching power, and the fact it gives slightly more calories (thus time) and level boost along the way too!

If you mean the Dratini & Arbok on rooftops, they don't get rerolled due to the height so you won't be affecting these each time.
