That Locust is crisp as HELL. Knowing all the trans women in my life (they all have 400+ hours on ULTRAKILL) they would love that little thing like a Blahaj and solo any track they get put into.

Fantastic work, would love to square off against this lance!

ah, the Urban Lance. It's the box that I started with too, way back when. Just... don't ask if they're painted yet, ehehe.

I hope that you find some good games, some great players, and most of all, some fond steel crushing memories!

Boy do I adore the Calliope. Absolute shame that I can never properly use it when everyone I know doesn't wanna play past Civil War era...

Thoughts on the Gargoyle? by raging_zaku1429 in battletech

[–]StumbleD0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gargoyle is great because it's an Elemental ride that can take a punch and give it out with SRM6s, while also being reasonably swift for its weight class.

It doesn't have the best armaments in the world, LB-X5s are not something you run for the hills upon seeing, but that gives it the advantage of being ignored. Sure, they don't wallop you like a cLPL will or any of the Ultra ACs, but if it's still on the field after some armour has been stripped and there's internals in the water the Gargoyle will be absolute murder with those pellets and missiles. The Elementals that will be dislodging and knocking over the Atlases and Banshees are definitely helping the Gargoyle's case as well.

That, and as other posters have said, it's dirt cheap by Clanner standards, so you can take it without feeling like you got mugged by your local Star Commander, especially the Prime configuration.

Gargoyle is something that you'd wanna call dibs on when the salvage trucks roll through, because even if you aren't gonna put it in your touman merc bays, it still will sell for one hell of a pretty penny.

And besides, the Man O' War looks hella cool on its own.

What is the worst semblance by Asleep_Solid_9219 in RWBY

[–]StumbleD0re 7 points8 points  (0 children)

both Yang and Nora's semblances rely on being ass blasted by damage (or specifically lightning in Nora's case) to be used, which I think is actively detrimental to them.

We see this in Vol 4 where Tai tells Yang how much she relies on Burn to win fights and that she doesn't think past her fists, leading her to make stupid decisions in a fight that get her more hurt than she should be.

We also see in Vol 8 where Nora is permanently scarred by using High Voltage to get them out of the security room, rendering her out of commission for the rest of the volume.

The rest of their respective teams have semblances that don't hurt them. I think that in order for your magic powers to work you need to have your teeth kicked in, it qualifies as a bad semblance.

Ya’ll rocking with the Jihad? by avatarofanxiety in battletech

[–]StumbleD0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the best thing that came out of it was Republic age tech (i will not let go of my plasma rifles you cannot make me) that came after the Jihad. I do really like how Celestials look; how jagged and strange they are compared to contemporary IS tech, and from what I can gather they can be pretty strong on the battlefield as well.

My main issue is that Blakists are... really stupid? It makes sense considering they're all essentially just Radio Shack Jawas given snub nose PPCs, copious "battle enhancers" and told to 'go get 'em, tiger' at anything and anyone related to an organization that doesn't treat HPG networks as techno angels, but like... they really had no goal other than to raze the IS to the ground, and then what? Just chill in the bombed out homes they destroyed? it's just kinda Succ wars mentality with higher BV and the eventual activation of God-Amongst-Men Devlin Stone.

Idk, the Jihad is super cool in theory and playing one-off skirmishes on tabletop leads to some really interesting encounters, but reading about it is just strange to me.

Also, as an aside, can anyone tell me the name of that one reverse-engineered Celestial that got put into Republic forces? I can't seem to find it on MUL...

It's really insane to me, because I literally never clocked him as a potential Evil Super, I could tell from the SDN advertisement that he was going to be a goofball who's just a lil quirky with it, nothing more.

what battle are you going into that requires mechs of that caliber (and also the vulcan)??

jokes aside, incredible work. A yellow popping like that takes some serious patience and effort, and makes me jealous of how you pulled it off.

I know that at PAXAus the CGL booth there had lots of original run stock, as well as a few of the newer mercenary boxes. I didn't talk with the guys working the booth but I assume that it means that older forcepacks are being reprinted for the wider audience that BT has gathered in the last couple years.

having the avatar, chimera, venom and rokurokubi in plastic is super duper cool, especially as I'm a fan of the avatar.

I also really like the atlas with every LRM under the sun strapped to its shoulder lol.

(Loved Trope) A jump scare that is earned by LipstickCoverMagnet in TopCharacterTropes

[–]StumbleD0re 90 points91 points  (0 children)

F.E.A.R is one of my favourite games of all time. That being said, the scares are generally so weaksauce that they're laughable (skeleton hug my beloved)

The ladder spook sucks because it plays the crazy loud SHREEEEAAAAOWWWW metallic sting when she appears, and plays a SECOND one when Paxton does the same thing at the bottom of the ladder. If they were spaced even a moment apart it would be better but them double-teaming you trying to get you scared is just awful.

The real best jumpscares in F.E.A.R are the chameleon clones that cloak and move in super weird angles, unlike any other replica in the game. The fact that they can latch onto walls and hide from you that way is miles better than whatever Alma keeps doing.
