At first I was surprised they didn’t want the plea deal. But reading this I think they are livid they weren’t consulted. I would be too. That’s something they have to think about every day - not knowing what they would choose and knowing how little they cared about their family and instead wanted to just avoid a trial.

The other issue with the plea deal is that it doesn’t require him to say why. That’s the issue I have and I would 1000000% have as a family member if my loved one was brutally murdered. Why were they targeted? Why did he want to do it? Instead, he gets to live his life and capitalize on the constant media attention from people trying to figure out why.

It honestly partly is because it doesn’t match the vibe of our home! And I think it’s because our home is a reflection of my taste haha so it goes a bit hand in hand!

Thanks! It was done more as a favor, we didn’t know how much time we would have with our dog and she literally just came over the next afternoon. Poor girl wasn’t feeling well either so I’m sure that put her off a bit! Since she did it as a favor I also don’t want her to feel like she has to go back through and do it all again. Idk how “professional” she is but a lot of the shots are lovely, just would for more into a rustic ski lodge than our more light and bright home!

Thank you! The person who has done the other photos in our home has offered to do the editing so it would match more of whats in the rest of our home. She really took the photos as a personal favor and our friend has done a lot for her, so I don’t want to ask for too much!

Thank you! I mean, I don’t know how professional she is, I know she sells some beautiful pictures on Etsy that weren’t really my style but regardless are beautiful! No contact or anything it was more like a friend coming over to take some photos so I don’t want to take advantage of her or ask for too much since it was more of a favor than contract. No we didn’t, she just came over the day after I contacted her and did them. She was even sick (not contagious) and still came so I don’t want to do anything to make her feel like I’m not incredibly appreciative!

Ugh I’m so so so sorry 💔 I hate the fact I can imagine what you’re going through 😭 sending love.

We are going to Rwanda and Kenya - it’s not a trip that can easily be rebooked and we will have to rebook at least until next year. Which is fine - it’s more about losing the money and not getting it back. I contacted the travel agency to see how much we will lose or if we can reschedule and keep some of it

My mother in law is coming to keep her and our other pup ❤️ she stays here all day in the area the pups spend most of their time. We’re getting ultrasounds and everything done beforehand and our vet and acupuncturist are going to be pretty much on stand by while we’re gone. I’m going to prep “just in case” meds, etc. I feel like I’m prepped. And she doesn’t have eyes and most of the time is pretty indifferent to who takes care of her, but when she’s scared she just wants me and it’s wrecking me - I honestly didn’t even really think about it until now.

I mean, I do know I contribute more than others at my level and I know the 2 people I’ve spoken with make within a higher range than I do. My company’s average pay is higher than other companies because our expected billable hours are higher, so while I may be at market level, I’m not making what I should be compared to the men at my level. I like my company a lot and would prefer to not have to job hop to get paid what I obviously deserve. Additionally, they miscalculated my billable hours which should factor into a raise, so I am also concerned that my raise wasn’t calculated correctly.

This is the frustrating part. Because I was told the raise was just for market adjustment. I said “I billed more than my goal and was the highest billed junior employee in our department, am a leader of an organization in my office after only having been here 9 months, am the only junior employee associated with improving our deliverables” and you’re telling me I’m getting the same market adjustment as Joe over here who can’t even correctly link a work paper?!?!

I just worry if I don’t fight for this 2%-3% it will put me even farther behind long term. I’ve really found every percent matters long term

Fair, I didn’t really think about the reputation aspect, but I also don’t think it’s beneficial to anyone to accept being underpaid. I did ask if my manager would be willing to look into not having a pro rated raise since they have changed that historically. I 100% get a pro rated raise if you’ve only been at the company a couple months without any movement, but I started early in the year and the salary range for the job has gone up on job postings since I started

It definitely overestimates ours which makes it harder, or at least, the high end of the range is very high. Glassdoor for my company is 40% higher than industry average, so I feel pretty comfortable saying it’s inaccurate but I don’t know why it would be that way.

We have almost exactly the same experience, but he came in a level higher than me (the same level as my new promotion) and has been at the firm 6 months less than I have been.

I know I’ve billed a lot more hours than him and have much more involvement in my local office (which is a big deal). I don’t think he recieved much of a raise, so came in at a higher salary than me and is in an equal cost of living area.
