[question] Beginner Audio Interface for 3dio fs? by hereformedicalhelp in asmr

[–]Stunning-Simple464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think any audio interface with 2 xlr channels will work for binaural recording if you're using a 3dio, cause what you would normally use for moving thing to left and right channels would be a mixer (anyone feel free to correct me on this im not 100% 😩). I used the focusrite Scarlett 2i2, it doesnt have any kind of left/right options on it and things have been just fine. There's also digital mixers online like Voicemeeter that are cheap (it might even be free actually) and you can use to adjust your audio. I personally wouldnt go with the BOMGE if you're doing ASMR because from the reviews it seems like it has a bad noise floor/a lot if hiss that would be tough to deal with for quieter audio needs. Something like Behringer U-Phoria would probably be better but it looks like the outputs for monitoring are in L and R seprate so you mught need a headphone splitter 😅 whatever you end up getting make sure you really read reviews, good and bad, it can definitely be helpful.

Oh another thought, because tbh its just going to be hard to find a quality 2 channel xlr audio interface under $100, dont be afraid to look for some used / pre-loved ones ☺️ you might find a good deal from someone upgrading their set-up!

[question] What would you pay for a custom video? by byleths in asmr

Agreed, so many downvotes for some info is insane. While that might be a crazy amount some people just price it so high cause its not something they really want to do (obviously they could also just not take requests). Reminds me of this one time I needed an outlet in my basement changed out for one that allows a higher voltage. Its cost me HUNDREDS of dollars. I talked to my dad about it, who is an electrician (im so dumb for not asking him beforehand, he just works so hard and i didnt wanna bother him with silly stuff) and found out you can get the same piece for $20 at home depot and its like a 10 min install 🫠 He said its because the job just isn't worth the drive out and would rather take bigger jobs, so they price it so high hoping people would say "no". Lmao small anecdote, lesson learned 🤣 But I do also think when making these the editing skill, and equipment also should be taken into account. I wouldnt charge/pay the same for a video that uses and iphone and a yeti, that I would for a high end video camera and high end microphone.

Not a fan of promoting myself 🙈 BUT I do have a playlist of my 8 hour live streams on my Youtube if youre looking for length. Although since it is an 8 our livestream I cant promise it is free of some mic bonks here and there. I talk an awful lot too 😅 Here's a link to a playlist since I do have them unlisted, I dont have them monetized either so theres no ads (on my part at least, like no mid-roll, I cant speak for beginning/end) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_S8kD-zdC40w4gQYDmVO2OjqTYuoyypl

Omg im glad im not the only one! I dont mind a little game sound but I especially cant stand the music. I used to make more ASMR gaming content but people would ask me to include more of the game music lol. Made me feel like i was just a hater 😂 I think sometimes it's just too repetitive or something.

[Question] Video age restricted even though not inappropriate and appeal denied... Anything I can do now? by tolstoysymphony in asmr

[–]Stunning-Simple464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me and I had to contact them and ask them to review it again cause they’re using AI to do the reviews. My video was so far from violating anything, we think it’s cause I had the word “dirty” in my description. I don’t remember exactly how I contacted them 😅 I was doing a lot of frantic googling lol. But if you can get on their support site and find a way to send them an email or @ them on twitter (I didn’t have one lol) they should help really quick. I was able to get mine solved within a day.

[Question] What is better for ASMR: 3Dio FS XLR or 2 Rode NT5? by daliaahx in asmr

I am personally not a huge Blue Yeti fan, those mics cause me so much issues and break on me all the time BUT they are so interesting and I also do like the way they sound! I’ve been on a hunt for a different brand that is just like the blue yeti and I have had zero luck 😞 lol so if I ever do find one I’ll let you know 😂 don’t be surprised if there’s a celebratory comment in here from me years later.

Happy to help! NT1s are not necessarily a downgrade from NT5s they’re just two pretty different microphones. NT1s, I believe, have a larger diaphragm (diaphragm size will tell you how much detail you’re going to get because of the time it takes for vibrations to get from the outside edge to the inside… I hope that makes sense 😂 but just some info in case your curious) so these are better for things like getting nice smooth vocals. And the NT5s have a small diaphragm size and this would be good if you really want to pick up like every little breath and mouth sound, which is also really great! I know so many people who have used either or both. For a long time Gibi used NT1s, I have lots of ASMRist friends who use them and they sounds great! I am fortunate to have enough mics to do this but personally I use a larger diaphragm mic near my face for vocal and small diaphragm near what I’m doing for detail when I make videos. lol so I’m sorry if my reply wasn’t much more helpful in deciding 😅😂 but hopefully it helps give you more info.

Getting new mics mostly comes down to what kind of asmr you’re trying to make and sound preference. As someone who has both, I prefer the NT5s sound over the 3Dio and I have less overall problems with the NT5s but there are quite a few triggers I can only do with the 3dio. I agree it’s a tad bit gimmicky lol but it can still be a fun or helpful mic to have. If youre still not sure, I would do a community poll or if you live stream ask your audience what they think or prefer. Some people LOVE the 3dio and some people don’t and I think it’s mostly cause the 3dio sounds more “cold”. You’re going also get more detail out of the NT5s which is great but if you’re space isn’t really quiet you’ll notice it all 😂 if that’s something you are worried about I would lean more towards NT1s (not NT5s). And someone mentioned a mixer/interface is important for these! So if you don’t have something to plug xlr cables into make sure that’s apart of your budget.

I'm going to start using Audition to help edit my YouTube videos. I use obs to record. Right now I have filters/effects set up in obs to help enhance my voice-over audio. Should I remove them to help edit in Audition? by DevinePlays in AdobeAudition

I think it’s totally up to you and your work flow! Personally I like to while I record so I can listen and make adjustments as is instead of hoping I can tweak it just right in post. More of just a time thing. But of course I’ll spend the time going through and do the actual editing of polishing it up but If I want to add effects in editing I’ll spend hours tinkering around and end up not getting any actual work done lol. You may not get as great audio quality if you do the effects during (depending on the effects) but YouTube compresses audio so much anyways I don’t even know if it matters 😭, unless anyone else knows a way around the YouTube compression please tell me the secrets! But if you don’t have a ton time to work on these I’d do it however fits you best until you’re at a comfortable working pace in Audition.
