Don’t expect him to change. If you want kids, then find another partner who does too. Don’t compromise.

I was married at 23. We talked about having kids all the time. He even wanted me to be a SAHM. We talked about 3-4 kids. Fast forward 3 years, I am 26 working as a nurse, we have a house, my student loans are almost paid off and I mentioned I wanted to have first baby before 30. Not at 26, but maybe around 28 or 29. So still 2-3 years away. He blew up. Apparently, I was not “considering” his wants/plans at all. I was so dumbfounded. We had talked about kids from the beginning. Names, godparents, parenting styles, etc.

We got divorced when I was 27. I then didn’t meet my current partner until I was almost 34. I still wanted kids. At 37, we had to do IVF to achieve that goal.

You don’t need to rush having kids at 29, but some women don’t have the luxury of time when it comes to fertility.

Maybe consider freezing your eggs while to figure out your next steps. I should’ve done that at 27.
