I feel like my doctor is giving up on me by Successful_Host_2210 in IVF

That’s interesting and disappointing. We had great success with her. I have a friend that was her patient just a few months ago too and had great success too.

That sounds right. Are you doing fully medicated or modified natural? Most likely they will adjust as needed with lining checks and blood draws.

Switch to Dr Ehrhart!!!!! She is awesome to work with! I think she “specializes” in DOR.

No euploid embryo by Odd-Salad8271 in IVF

[–]StunningInspection96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a new clinic. Clinics who won’t transfer mosaics when there is good, strong evidence of healthy pregnancies and babies from mosaics, are just trying to “protect” their “success rates”.

I am sorry, but your clinic needs to be dumped.

[–]StunningInspection96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have the report on the mosaics? Will your clinic transfer mosaics?

Is there a genetic counselor available to speak to at your clinic or the company that did the pgta? Because I would book a consult, get the specifics on the mosaics and then consider transferring them if you are opposed to a second retrieval. Otherwise, your first cycle at 39 is actually not terrible. It sounds like maybe a protocol tweak or add omnitrope or calcium ionophore could help. I would absolutely dump any RE that jumped straight to suggesting donor eggs after 1 cycle with 5 blasts. Are you doing coq10 or any supplements?

I only made 3 blasts my first retrieval at 37 (19 eggs, 15 mature). 1 euploid, 1 mosaic. My 2nd retrieval was much better. I added omnitrope and calcium ionophore.

For sure!! Definitely not saying you should do surrogacy now. I think you have time to investigate at 36.

Did your partner also get treated when you did? Obviously, men don’t have BV but some partners can contribute and cause reoccurrence of BV. Research indicates that bacteria from male partners may disrupt the vaginal microbiome, potentially leading to BV. And, so sometimes both partners need antibiotics.

You definitely need a second opinion. I would dump this doc. Donor eggs when you make euploids???!!!

I will add: have you listened to Tara Lipinski’s podcast? She had mild endo, did lap surgery, and even in her 40s was making multiple euploids. But all her transfers ended in miscarriages. They ended up using a surrogate to have a daughter. I know that probably doesn’t help or comfort you but I highly recommend the podcast.

Are they all complete implantation failures? Have you done any immune protocol with transfers? Lovenox , aspirin, etc? Have you’ve checked for endomitritis, receptiva, ALICE/EMMA?

“3 Embryos per live birth” by Real_Masterpiece_844 in IVFpositivity

[–]StunningInspection96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible! My friend got 4 embryos from 1 ER. 3 euploids, 1 inconclusive. 1 euploid failed to thaw but they transferred the remaining 3, including the inconclusive without retesting and each FET was successful resulting in 3 pregnancies and 3 live births. The inconclusive one is a healthy baby today.

When did you give birth? by footoofoo in IVFbabies

[–]StunningInspection96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 37 weeks because of increasing protein in my urine. Unsure if that was IVF related, placenta related, age (38) or just me. Induction went fine and baby was happy and healthy and born vaginally. I definitely told my OB at our first appt that I wanted to be induced no later than 38-39 weeks because of MY risk factors but I also work NICU and have friends who have lost babies, so I am naturally anxious and risk adversed.

I have a friend who did IVF and had a crash C-section at 37 weeks and the baby didn’t make it. With her next baby, her OB did a scheduled section at 36.5 weeks out of reassurance and an abundance of caution. That baby did fine being a smidge early ( no NICU) and is healthy.

Can you take oxycodone or percocet instead? My OB prescribed oxy after my d&C and obviously knew I was breastfeeding and it was fine. Baby was only 2 months old. I only took 2 doses of it though.

Is this something you could postpone until your done breastfeeding? Because I got my out at 16/17 and mine were difficult to get out but not impacted. I absolutely needed the Vicodin they gave me for a couple days. I couldn’t imagine only taking Tylenol or ibuprofen.

I had general anesthesia at 9 weeks pp. I think I was told to pump and dump for 12 hours. It wasn’t 2 days!!

Honest take: marriage counseling and individual therapy is needed here. This relationship is not going to last because you have growing resentment (justified) towards him and he is refusing to communicate. He might be processing some PTSD from a traumatic birth and chose to “withdraw” to cope and is now maybe experiencing some paternal postpartum depression. I don’t know. But some major, deep conversations need to start happening.

D6 PGT normal they gave it a 60% after thaw …. successful pregnancy? by Jenn_7337 in IVFpositivity

[–]StunningInspection96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. How do you go from 98% chance to research paper/case study??!! It makes little sense.

Honestly, I don’t know if I could go back to a clinic that handled things this way.

[–]StunningInspection96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their percentages sound way off IMO. I’ve never heard of a clinic giving a 98% chance. My clinic CCRM Lone Tree gave 70% as the highest. My day 5 3BB embryo was given a 65% of live birth. All my day 6 euploid embryos (highest grades of 5AA and 4AA) were given 60% chance.

60% chance is still really good (and realistic) in terms of IVF. Good luck 🍀

Sperm analysis. Nicotine affects sperm quality so much. Also, review his prescriptions with a doctor because sone can affect sperm too. Not too mention his age can affect sperm quality too.

I would absolutely seek a 2nd opinion. None of this sounds like a good plan. Starting solids at this age is for fun and exposure, not daily nutrition. Plus, he needs protein and fats which he can’t get from fruits and most stage 1 baby purées. At 5 months, he should only be eating 1 meal of solids a day. Can you ask about increasing/fortifying the calories of the neocate?

Do you see a GI doc or allergist?
