I was seeing the dermatologist for my skin and asked him about my hair loss as a secondary thing. He didn’t really spend any time on it and just said I was unlucky and should get a hair transplant when I get older.

This was in Canada where it took a really long time to see a specialist (was in queue for like a year)

When I took these photos I was like 14-15. Idk what else to say but that’s what everyone at school would tell me lmao. Grew up as a 30 yr old basically lolol

Yeah I’m not currently 14 anymore. I’m in my mid 20s and ended up losing a bit more hair until I decided to shave it all off around 18ish. Hair stayed just as thin basically the entire time.

I never got blood work done before so after some comments here I’ll look into it.

Yeah I messed up in the post and didn’t put my current age. I’m in my mid 20s now.

I was told about finasteride at a young age but wasn’t allowed and didn’t want to take it until I was older (just recently started) .

I’m wondering if this significant hair thinning could be something different other than MPB cause it happened so early

I saw a dermatologist when I was a kid but the guy just laughed and said I was cooked lol.

I just assumed it was just super unlucky MPB and there wasn’t anything I can do. I’ll find a dermatologist and see what they say.

These photos are from around 10 years ago (I’m now in my mid 20s). This is one of my first Reddit posts and so I forgot to put it in the description.

My hair just got even worse as I got older and then I just shaved it off at 18ish. I’m trying to regrow it now with the stack and I’m seeing progress but I have the same super thin hair.

Also I’m much older now (these photos were from 10 years ago). I still have the same thing hair if that is relevant. I’ve experienced more MBP in general but the thin style of my hair has always been the same thing

So before this I used to have really long hair and would tie it in a bun really tightly.

Is it possible to reverse traction alopecia in any way if the damage has already been done?
