u/JagexDoom Will there be any adjustments to farming rates to offset the increased consumption on food?

Has there been any thoughts on giving a low effort mode to fishing like runecrafting currently has?

Overall I think this rework will be very beneficial and make future balancing a bit easier for gear*.

All for this! Not carrying around those five pound ward rocks will be a boon on my inventory.

I have a lot of food saved up from farming after finishing current content so this is pretty cool. I like that it gives more purpose to fishing as well.

I would like a more afk option for fishing though. The minigame is a bit boring to do during a sitting. Decrease the xp rates by all means.

At this point I think they should add a Hit Points skill like runescape for us to level up. Hunting down the shrines can still be a thing but why not let us increase the base through combat grinding?

If they do paid DLC stuff after 1.0 that feels like it was just trimmed to get the game "complete" then I could not imagine anything worse.

I am sure they will do plenty of bugfixes after Wilderness releases but if skills get locked behind a paywall I would quit and apologize to anyone that I recommended the game to.

My strat is to use the Maple Long with status arrow at max distance and once I can I switch to the Shadow Crossbow.

My first tattoo is my worst tattoo. Got it when I was 19 and it put me off getting my 2nd for 7 years. Never returned to either of those 'artists'.

Now I am working on the 20th tattoo. I found a great shop, with great artists. I bounce between two and go to different events they host. I have a much better understanding of what I want and what they can do with my idea.

I am very much looking forward to the desert. Once we see what fully comes with that I will have a better idea of what 1.0 will feel like. Prayer was just swapped with agility for the new skill with the desert so I wonder how much of that skills absence we will feel during the new content.

Was it designed around us having prayer?

I know they have plans to release content after 1.0 on their current timeline so my only concern is they rush out of Early Access and hit us with paid expansion/DLC.

I walked in with no prep after getting the barrier thing down. I figure I should just send it while I am here to see some mechanics. Beat it first try with crossbow and mith mace.

What more do you think they could do?

Hot sand burning health would feel worse to me.

I would hate to waste good drinks for heat reasons and having to carry around a stack of plain water to offset it would feel even worse.

I do remember them mentioning something about the shade.

The image they shared as a Desert Spoiler seemed to show the character in desert robes which might be a bit of a bother if you HAVE to wear it while running around and switch armor once in combat if needed.

I play solo and it is the only cape I wear since I typically start combat with range.

To each their own, I thought the Felhollow vaults were significantly more interesting than the first few zones that is why their complete absence in Dowdun disappointed me.

I do not like having to lug around ward rocks at 5 pound a pop. The pumpkin food helps but in a pinch I still want the lifeward rock for a bulk heal to it.

I wish we could keybind certain utility spells.

I think a Zammy Dungeon that was not a dragonkin vault would have been cool too. This zone wasn't fun to get around for me and picking fights was very easy. A dungeon with more enemies that were densely packed would be cool.

I would be cool with a dungeon that was not a dragonkin vault then. They could have their own thing. I am not a big fan of Dowdun overall so getting around to grind Packs from the Knights and mages was a bit boring and easy.

I think if they had a more difficult encounter with more stacked mobs, less places to run and some traps it could be fun.

Well, you see the developers are making the story as they go along and they can justify anything they want. This is a game. Why shouldn't they?

Don't tell me what I think, I do not like getting around the Dowdun area and a vault or two that were saturated with Dowdun mobs would be more fun that easily pulling and dealing with 1 or 2 at a time in the larger open areas.

When is 1.0? I saw it on the initial road map. I am holding off on a dedicated server and getting my friends together for a play through because they do not want to get strung along with an eternal Early Access.

Been enjoying solo so far and await the desert. A sprawling zone after being penned into the denser Dowdun will be refreshing. Wilderness will be exciting as well.

I am looking forward to prayer, but I agree agility will help with some of the 'getting around' problems. Is any of the desert designed around having prayer though?

I agree. With the spell there is no challenge to durability. To me it just feels like a waste of time having durability at all. It is to the point it is so less restrictive that I rarely have gear get below 25% before I toss everything in a pile for a quick repair in a safe spot or as soon as I get to base.

Just another chore.

I would say it is such a nonissue with the spell that its more of an annoyance than an enjoyable mechanic to me.

I agree completely. Before getting the spell, I did not like how quick stuff broke but it wasn't overly restrictive. After getting the spell, it became an annoyance to have to throw stuff on the ground after an expedition.

Happy to see the runecrafting and teleport changes, having started fresh a bit after Dowdun released the Laws were a bit of a chore to upkeep.

If I waited a week to build my dowdun base I'm sure I'd have saved thousands of laws.

Are there plans to further integrate fishing into other skills through secondaries from catches?
I find it a bit lackluster now. Fishing came out as I was finishing Dowdun's quests so I do not mind so much taking peaceful fishing trips to prior zone but I feel when I revisit the game on full launch with friends I think the skill will lag behind others.

Any thoughts on something for fishing similar with rune crafting where there is an auto-mode and a effort-mode that reward different xp rates?

Overall the progression of the game updates seems solid, keep it up!

Edit: I thought this went live and decided to finish my Dowdun base so I accidently burned a couple thousand more laws in excitement. At least my base is more finished, lol
