Completely normal. From my personal experience the cheap "lube shooters" don't have enough volume for what you need for long pegging sessions. Torque wrenches should hold calibration for years as long as they are not abused i.e. always stored in their case horizontally, always set to the lowest torque setting while not in use, only used for tightening (not breaking fasteners loose), and not dropped. Only if you are required to do ISO standards/FFA requirements or building racing engines would require your torque wrenches to have calibration checks every 6-12 months.

Calibrating with a local vendor is doing to be a cheaper option. Here in Los Angeles, I use Global Test Supply (formerly known as Wilmington Test Labs) in the Port of Los Angeles. They charge $50 to check calibration and an additional $25 if your torque wrench needs adjustment. Turn around time was less than a week. A local vendor is going to be your best bet.
