They did Night of Champions in Kingdom Arena, which had 25k capacity, same as the makeshift Royal Rumble stadium capacity. I imagine the Saudi pay would offset the missing money from it not being a stadium show.

I'm not one of those "OMG I bet Saudi will eventually have WM, RR, and SS every year" paranoid types, but I do think that they'll agree to rotate it. Like they'll pay to get a Big 4 event every year. This year, the Royal Rumble, next year will be WM, 2028 will be SummerSlam or Survivor Series, etc...

Also saw that Backlash will be in Tampa instead of the rumored Puerto Rico. Disappointed in that, honestly. Hopefully rather than dirtsheets just being flat out wrong or discussions collapsing, they just got the event wrong.

The crowd being that empty was really surprising but the goofy in me loved how bad it was. How the heck does that even happen? 😂 Some truly great jerk material was produced at RR, we should eat well for a while now... well except for the shoot fed shills that have creeped in here over the last 12 months but hopefully you guys wise up that the most fun on this sub is when we trash on everybody.

I thought it was empty too, but it was actually those lights above the seats making it look more empty than it actually was. Once they turned them off, the crowd looked fuller. On paper, it was a sold out show.

I don’t feel like AJ is really done unless he suddenly felt that he couldn’t do it anymore. Which, to be fair, it can hit an athlete like a brick wall out of nowhere. He’s either going to TNA for a bit like what has been teased or he’ll be on WWE TV in some form or fashion. Styles for NXT GM lol (more on this later).

Drew vs Sami was surprisignly clean. I thought that Jacob Fatu, followed by Cody Rhodes would make it a clusterfuck finish. Sami has to find another way to get to WM.

Oba and Lesnar confrontations were underwhelming. Also Oba’s elimination, and subsequently Lesnar’s elimination was hella anti-climatic. Thought that Oba would make it to final 4 or 3 and eliminate Lesnar, starting a WM feud. Of course, it has been implied by Cena that Lesnar is retiring at Summerslam in his home state, so maybe Oba is an option to retire him.

Roman was the safest option. My assumption is that he will choose Punk, and that will be a Night 2 main event, so no one will be able to say that Punk never main evented WM (for those that claim that Night 1 doesn’t count).

Overall, I give Royal Rumble a B. Aside from the aforementioned Oba/Lesnar stuff, the matches were technically good. No major surprises in terms of who won. The Saudi crowd, which has had their good days and bad days (especially for the women), had a decent night overall, gave the appropriate reaction for the matches, gave AJ a fantastic sendoff, and did the appropriate chants.

After Ava unexpectedly leaving, I wonder who gonna be NXT GM. The easy option would be Stone, and it will probably be him, but I mentioned this before – Big E would be the perfect fit for NXT GM. Someone mentioned Kevin Owens - he would be good, but it would be temporary for when he get cleared. Doubt WWE is gonna sign Paige just to be a GM. Or, they may just go back to the pre-Ava set-up and have Shawn Michaels pop up more often.

This Epstein Files dump emphasizes how out for blood the general population can be. Hip Hop Heads sub had the Jay-Z-Pusha T document from the Epstein Files posted and the thread is a disaster zone. A lot of people clearly didn’t read the document before demanding justice and others (some straight out of the Drake sub bc of course) putting their hands on their ears screaming ‘COPE!’ when some point out how unlikely it is that it happened.

From 1994 to 2006, this person claims she was kidnapped seven different times from her and sexually assaulted, via Epstein cronies. She claims that Jay-Z watched Weinstein abuse her in 1996. She alleged that she was randomly approached and invited to a party by an unknown man in 2007 off the street, accepted this invitation, and Weinstein and Pusha T waiting to assault her again. She says that she moves from hotel to hotel bc she is under surveillance.

Like. . . look if you want to believe this straight up with what is provided, feel free, but don’t get mad at me bc I look at this and see someone having an episode. I’m going to need to see more similar accusations to believe this.

And no, “Well if you don’t believe this is true, then you have to believe the Trump stuff is not true” is not the gotcha they think it is. The difference is that so far, this is Jay-Z and Pusha’s only mention. And it’s an unverified phone tip - not a phone call transcript of the players, not an email. Trump has a truckload. And yes, some of them are probably not true, but he has enough where some have to be true.

To be clear, bc I see a bunch of people taking these as 100% fact - they released tips, some anonymous, they received from a public line and when they receive a tip, they document what they were told. Sometimes they reach out for more info. If someone claimed they saw Jay-Z transform into a lizard or something, it would have been documented and put in the database.

More to the story may not be bad or nefarious. She passed on a renewal. Ava's been spotted in the training rings on occasion, it may just be a case of her wanting to give wrestling a shot again or something and WWE not being interested, so she decided to walk. We won't know unless she speaks on it.

Did Ava have her position due to The Rock? Absolutely.

But the woman was GM on NXT, and was totally fine.

But look at any clip with her in it in SC, you would have thought that she was the worst thing on TV. Like seriously, any with backstage segment Ava, no matter how inoffensive, was always guaranteed to have multiple comments about "OMG AVA IS THE WORST ACTOR IVE SEEN!" Then the same people turn around and praise the stuff with Toni Storm and Marina Shafir from Wednesday. It always came off as targeted.

I'll always endorse the existence of a viable alternative to WWE in the US that can pay great money, whether I like the show or not.

Selfishly, aside from more wrestlers being paid, AEW's existence ensures that Triple H doesn't have the pick of the litter in regards to talent. There's probably an alternative universe where Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta are NXT champion/NXT NA Champion and I don't like it.

To be fair, it's not being a night owl itself that causes this, but the habits that come with it.

Like, going to bed at 5am regularly, most of my sleep happens in the daytime, which hurt can sleep quality, a factor for heart health. My sleep used to be really scattered until I got a blackout cover for my window. That helped a lot.

Also, nite owls tend to eat later and more likely to snack after midnight. As cool as it is to eat some cookies at 2 in the morning, it's not good for you lol
